Work has called me up again and I'm having to look for accomodation near Didcot.
Secure parking would be good.
Broadband internet would be good.
One or two decent pubs would be excellent.
Dancing girls would be a bonus! :D
Any ideas?

What are you looking for? Rent, B&B, or Hotel/Travel lodge?
There's a Travel Lodge/Travel Inn on the Dicot interchange on the A34.
There's Sturdy's Castle, cant' think where it is at the moment, But bikers used to meet every Monday night there. I think It was on the A361 Out of Kidlington.
Mr Davesatan's your man, he's over Bicester way!
Talking of which have'nt heard from him on the forum in ages! I hope he's alright?
There's Cassington Bike night on the First Monday in May!

Thank you Sir Tuck - that's a couple of places for me to look for :)
I think I'm going to be there for about one or two years so renting somewhere may be best though I've seen a B&B for £23 a night that doesn't look that bad!
Hi Nitrowing.
I'll PM you in a mo. :)

Best bet is to buy the Oxford Times if you are going to rent. But Oxford and Surrounding areas is F***ing Expensive! A bottle of Fosters Ice in a pub in Abingdon was £2.50 and that was two years ago! I would go to Bicester or Kidlington If I was going to rent!
There's Finders Keepers Property Management. They are good.
Oh yeah, petrol is 2-3p a gallon dearer than any where in the world!
And the Natives aint very friendly, More interested in themselves! Maybe summat to do with Oxford Universities, and Inspector Morse country!

Be Didcot smart!
Dont drink the water buy the bottled stuff. And dont go out in the sun without a hat on. Sun screen every day. Observe the local customs and respect the village elders. Exept when they try to bum you, then you can hit them with a fish. Not tinned but a big wet floppy sea bass.
Take heed of these words and you will survive your time in DIDCOT

Sorry Mate, But I lived in Sutton Courtenay for 5 years until recently. The neighbours were very nice, but the locals were bloody rude and unfriendly. Even work "collegues" were a surly bunch of over educated w*nkers!
It didn't help having a father in law in a home nearby taking up all our spare time! Which probably didn't help us trying to get out and make freinds better!

FFS! :o I was living and working in Little Wittenham (4 miles away) then. Used to ride through S C a lot, going to my daughter's.
Never saw a bloke wearing supermultiextracoloured sweaters, though.
Ne'r mind, our paths will cross again. ;)

I used to work at Oxford Instruments Medical in Abingdon, until they closed it down and moved production over to their Old Woking factory, then I commuted DAILY, ffs!, down there for 18 months! Then I got made redundant, which helped me decide to move up here. And a bloody good decision it was too, and i don't make to many of them I can tell you!
Nitro, Hodsons, good choice! Better than some thieving, lazy estate agents in Abingdon I can tell you! Connells are fairly good too, but the rest are crap, believe me!
