Last weekend dj's at a rally . Friday nite was great excellant feedback from ralliests and they kept asking for a lot of music, a nice mixture of classic & modern stuff. most of which i had.

Sat nite i didnt think went as well - mainly with the more modern rock (1990 - current). I felt that i didnt have a wide enough selection. THis i would like to address ( may take me a while).

Now I dont want to play new stuff all nite long, also I couldnt afford to keep buying the latest albums each week.

So i was hoping that you could post your modern fav tracks. Now as I am not very much up on new stuff will need song title and artsist if possible.

A friend of mine says i can have a load of his kerrang disks (which hopefully will help).

many thanx

thanx all

greenday luckily i had 1 track - soon to be rectified as i have won 4 albums of ebay for £6.00 inc P&P) :)

Doro - I am moving away from copies, as i understand that if i get a visit i could loose everything - but thanx for the offer.

Stevie - what more can I say bro - bloody excellent sets from both you and Dumpy. Even the mixer and your mandalin pickups going faulty didnt ruin the nite... and as for yourself siitting in amonst the ralliests and playing a solo set - went down a storm.

Just glad i could help ya both out. My currant amp would not allow me to do what we did on saturday nite - but am looking to redress that as soon as i can get some funding... see ya soon

Doro & mr brill

magic have taken notes of you suggestions and will see what i can do.

No Doro your not allowed them as mp3s or on a laptop.

This is what I have found out so far from the entertainments licencing athority.

1. proper djs/radio station cds are prefered choice - altho these are expensive royalty fees are included in purchase price.(also mastermix who make these cds do prosicute if djs are using copies of there cds)

2. ordinary cds. you are supposed to keep a detailed record of what tracks and artists you have played and then submit to pay royalties on those trcks (anywere from 1p - 37p per track) Yet to find anyone except radio stations that doo this and often a blind eye is turned.

3. all copies may result in you loosing all your equipment and a fine

4. mp3s are same as 3. but is worse because you havent payed for the tracks.

5. I know the chances of getting caught are slim - but I am the one thats always gets caught - so I am replacing all the cds that i play regually and the rest will be binned.

Doro
26-01-2005, 01:11 PM
what about those sites where you pay for the tracks, usually about 99p each, could save money cos you often only need 1 track off an album

also

chop suey - system of a down

knew I'd remember it............ :D

dunno - cant find any information.

The relevent departments have yet to make a decision.

But they advise that your equipment may be impounded until you could prove the legitamacy or until they were satisfied.

i have managed to pick a lot of albums and cd singles for between 10p - 99p each and have got some buy it nows on some lots were there are 200 album cds dor £9.99 - so i can go thru them and tehn put back the ones i dont want.

unfortuantly a lot of stuff cant be brought that cheeply, funnily enough mainly the older rock stuff, which often seems to obtain higher prices.

hi m8

song lists dont matter (if anyones got any music mag disks they wanna get rid of) as i make my own.

Ska is good - i quite like a bit of ska and often get asked for it, so always a bonus.

will try my best on everyclear.

Sure we will meet somewhere and will buy ya some beer or few :)

my bidding and watching list on ebay is horrendus, luckily for me i wont go over 99p for a cd (and then after checking out then new price - have found some cheeper new !!!!).
