You can use any old reg/rec on your bike , most of them are built the same way, Hondas use 3 gold wires from the generator , and red / green wires, on older bikes they have single red and single green wires.
On newer bikes they seem to have two red and two green...
Just solder them in and it works, JCB bought my NTV which has a CBR600RR reg/rec under one of the panels.
I replaced the one on the Africa twin with one off a Yamaha Xj600.
And the CBR600 has 2 reg/recs the flat honda one and a ZX6R reg/rec. Just try to match the same size bike with the reg/rec you put on. Also use cush rubbers to save them from vibrations and move them to put better airflow over them so they don't die as easy. The NTV I sold JCB has a PC fan cable tied to it.

My reg went so I put a different one on. Works fine so what he said goes for me.
Easiest is to buy one with the same number of wires.

i got a new rectifier today put it on and tried it the unit works ok 13.8volts but it seemed very warm to me after 5mins of running you could touch it but it was warm! how warm do these things get???? any help would be great cheers
They exchange the energy in the spare electricity to heat.
Make sure its not covered by something, let the air get to it

Wire up a PC fan to it , JCB's NTV or rather my old NTV has a CBR600RR reg/rec with a PC case fan glued to it (it runs off the lights), I have the same mod on my CBR, or just increase the length of the wires to put it somewhere that gets some airflow.

lol,not any more it hasnt.i have mounted it onto an alloy heatsink off an amp,i learnt that from my triumph 955i which had an impulse to catch fire regurly.;)
long as whatever you fit has 14.5 volts coming out when running it should be ok,we used to use wetdream ones in days gone by for most bikes but now a lot of stuff intermingles easily electrics wise.just experiment.;)

I'll tell you a story about the NTV , maybe you've found evidence of it while poking around.
When I first bought it , it had a voyager fairing like you are selling on it , which went into the bin as it had more holes than a collander and made the bike top out at 65mph.
(the missing bolts on the downspar of the frame is evidence of this).
Cleaned it up best I could and took it for an MOT , the tester thought it would fail , it didn;t it passed with flying colours , he patted it on the tank and said good bikes the NTV its why couriers use them...
He fired up the engine to ride it out the MOT station and it burst into flames. Cue him and his boss running around with a fire extinguisher putting out the flames... I'm permanantly banned from using that MOT place now. As a couple years before the place had burnt down from a car bursting into flames.
lmao, yes i have found evidence of "fings" on ntv that would baffle miss marple m8,but after hearing of your exploits and seeing you fall off outside my house,we now have a nick for you, frank,as in mr spencer....;)
It never fuckin' ends...... :D
