Depends wot ya want to use it for mate! I`ve tried shaving with mine and its useless! :D Soz! If yer after a good solid kick it about and it still works effects box you will be hard pushed to find better than BOSS! The main thing is what you intend to use it for! If your gigging it will be fine but its limmited in its functions! You can get a multi effects box (plastic Im afraid) that can emulate just about any setup for about the same price, but these things (the cheap ones) are NOT built for throwing round dirty vans in the middle of the night in the rain when yer pissed! :D if yer get my drift! :o If its second hand TRY IT OUT BEFORE YOU PART WITH THE CASH! You should not have any crackles or noise when turning the knobs etc! If you have leave it alone and get a new one! They will last a lifetime if you take reasonable care of them. Now then! who`s sound are you after? This may not be the one for your after a warm vintage valve distortion sound. If its american metal your after it will do fine! :o

RM is absolutely right... that pedal is fine if you want a balls out real heavy distortion, metal sound, but that is all it is good for... Check out the Digitech range.. superb pedals, and most of em far more versatile than that one... also a multi effects unit doesn't have to be plastic... the Digi ones from the RP200 upwards are metal cased, and very tuff...do a search for the Sound Technology website, and take a look at em... If you can't find it, i can point you in the direction of anothe site..

I used to have one but i lent it my mate and his cat pissed on it. never really worked properly after ther..but i know what it'll do.
However i had it about 8 years ago and was wondering if anyone had managed to better the crunch it makes.
That digitech range looks damn good Bass but i'm a bit product faithful and boss made some ace gear.
I used to have a Metallizer..jeez van halen eat ya heart out..(i wish..lol) but you never know if you can get access to power points at gigs and it used to eat the batteries up like no-ones business..

Our drummer is sellin me an MT 2 for 50 quid and its never been used.
still got me boss eq pedal tho..crikey that cuts thru when its my turn...lol

cheers folks. :)
