View Full Version : Been looking for a trike
Not posted on here for a while now so hi to all the old farts and hello to the new.. Due to a few health problems I've decided to go back to a trike, Anyways in my search for the ideal trike i came across this..
Its a VW 1600 being sold by a car dealer on ebay with a 15k price tag attached to it, Maybe I'm missing something here and knowing that you guys like to chew over the fat so to speak, "i wondered what you would make of it," Or am i being to cynical and showing my age..
Honest opinions please.. :D

You want honest opinions
Well it looks the part and well built but where did he pluck the price from ???
And worth riding first at that price , alot of money to part with , all trikes ride abit differently dont they .

It may well be worth noting that the registration plate comes back as a VW saloon.

I agree with Ridler, looks a nice bit of kit, but not 15k
I wouldn't buy it, it's not my cup of tea.. It was the price that got my attention.. 15k could buy a lot of trike but i don't see it there, probably will make a nice trike for someone at a "Much lower price" Price wise you could get just as good for less than half of that maybe even less. ;)

Far too much money and according to askmid
XPU156L is on the Motor Insurance Database today
The details on the MID are:
Vehicle Make/Model: Volkswagen 1600 TRIKE
If these details are not correct, check the registration entered or contact your insurance provider. Checking your vehicle is on the MID
But according to DVLA ..... They have no record  Worth checking the legality of the Trike quoted on the Askmid, is it on the logboopk as trike if not it aint worth a wank.
I dont see that being worth more than "5k at best, even if it is legally a trike.
Honest opinions please.. :D

Boom trikes dont do it for me either, but i wouldnt slag a mans machine off because of it. Each to their own, but IMHO they are not worth the pricetag and their a bugger to insure too according to that Bitch Aunty Carol.

I do quite like them, and it's all down to personal taste.. but as u say the price is a bit rich.. saying that though the secondhand ones seem command a good price as well.
Ok they are an off the shelf job.. But how many peeps on site who ride bikes buy them from a dealer + the bolt on shinney bits and call it a custoum.. its horses for courses, just look at the banter between the Hardley riders and the jappies.. and they don't kill each other.. do they.. :D
Done the builds in the past and got the T-shirt.. cant be R'sssss'd with spanners this time around [old father time is catching up].. Just want something that looks good and is reliable.. be it of the shelf or a nice build that someone has done with out cutting corners..;)
Shaggy.. U still got the max??
