Right been riding this bike for a week now and a couple of issues have come up.

First is a noise I don't know what it is... At tick over there is no noise, its not untill 30mph and mid revs does the noise kick in. It sounds mechnical or a motor of some kind, but no idea what. If I pull in the clutch and cut the throttle the noise is still there untill I drop under 30mph.

If I rev the engine, at stand still, its doesn't kick in.. What is it?

Also the handle bars are bent, is there a good method to sort them or is it easier to get new ones?

possibly, strip em down and make sure everything is clean free and pins are copper slipped, also the back of the pads. but id also look at daft things like is the chain gaurd loose....or resinating.

and replace the bars.......

Try jacking the bike up and spinning the wheels or cut the motor when rolling down a hill and see if its engine related or speed ??

I crashed my superdream a week after an MOT and thought "oh just slightly bent bars, but the forks are twisted the other way so it astill rides straight" at the next MOT the tester noticed and said it needed straightening, when we removed the bar clamp the chrome was all cracked under it and bar had a crack running 1/2 way round it. Replacement bars were about £6 (that was 1990 though)
