Just got back from what can only be descibed as a mud bath, would have been a great rally if it werent fior the mud
Had tractors pulling landrovers off site ( that'll give you an idea how muddy it was).
Now I had a good time etc etc But with NABD being a charity for disabled bikers, when are they going to have a southern event that people in wheel chairs etc can get around OK. We saw a girl fall flat on her face when her false leg got stuck in the mud. heard of other disabled bikers who just took one look at the site n turned home.
Had to pick a bloke up in his wheel chair as he was just stuck.
Now I undrsatnd they cant control the weather etc, but one look at that site at any time and you would have thought ''If it rains its gonna get messy.Mainly cause the bars etc etc at where at the bottom of a slope, and the cars that turned up had a better bit of the campsite than most people on bikes, sorry to winge but if you dont voice your opinion aint nobody gonna hear it

Gotta say though that the marshalls did a fantastic job helping get people of the site etc, and at the end of the day the amount of rain we got really was heavy.

It hasn't been a good month, weather wise for anyone hosting an event, Si. The Marshall's rightly deserve credit for their efforts and I will pass on your suggestion made elsewhere for an alternate site.

Wotcha.

On a last minute whim, I didn't go to the Autumn NABD rally. With hindsight, I'm glad I didn't.

I loved it mud and all!!! the thing that bugged me though was what looked like an over use of the tractors, they seemed to be going round and round most of the time churning the mud up more than was really needed...I know they were needed to get the loo cleaning guys around but most of the van's / trucks being towed about on friday?saturday morning could have been left pretty much alone untill sunday !! only my humble opinion but it did certainly make the going very heavy for anyone with difficulty moving around.

Apart from the mud getting every where we had a great time, i got plastered in mud friday night by Penfold who got lost on the campsite (cheers bro) and again saturday morning when Bonehead borrowed my trike to nip off and get some tools so we could perform first aid on the cow that had snapped a throttle cable.
