Rouge Monkey made another post about spooks,( I think they exist RM ) which naturally got comments made about his choice of herbal tobacco ....BUT...

Whats the concencus of opinion about flying saucers (or whatever you want to call them)

About ten years ago while on a camping weekend up in the scottish highlands, On a clear night after imbibing with some of RM's type of smoking mixture I saw "Something!" in the night sky....very, very, high up in the atmosphere...(Icant even guess the height) It was far too high to be a plane, (no navigation lights), It was sparkling and shimmering.....There was about a dozen of us there, and everyone else could see it as well......It travelled at a high speed across the sky (far too fast to be a plane) untill it disappered over the horizon As I said, It was a very clear night, but I still cant make up my mind whether it was a "Flying Saucer" or perhaps maybe a satelite reflecting the sunlight coming round the earth.....???

Anyone else ever seen "Something Strange"

In the meantime, I'll keep an open mind..........

I would think we would be a very nieve race if we thought that our race is the be all and end all of the universe. there are too many un-answered equasions about whats out there & where it is. If all the evidence was put to a judge 'n' jury that we have on file, the verdict would be guilty (Yes there is alien life) Just look at Rogue Monkey!lol

We're just an alien experiment.
Unfortunately , somewhere along the way, we got controlled by money , religion and crooked governments.
Nothing more than ants - that's us.

Anyone who thinks we're more important ( or their God is more important) , is truly delusional.

Beam me up Scotty , I want to go home to the Mothership.

Over the last 50 years intrest in the subject of phenomenology (study of phenomena natural or supernatural) has increased at least by a 100 times. This includes everything from Spooks to UFO's including crop circles, abductions, miracle healing, the list is endless. Governments have been accused of cover ups individuals have been discredited others we have no rational or scientific explanation for. David Ike and people of his ilk have brought about riddicule to this subject to such a degree that it is almos impossible to have the topic debated in a serious manner.

However given the sheer numbers of credible people who bear witness to super-natural events. The recorded testimoney and evidence that seems compelling. I still find it hard believe that when I leave my keys on a table or even the key hook that a grey or a poltergeist hasnt moved them .Cos they are not feckin where I left em and thats a fact.

All other so called witnesses to super-natural events are just lying twats with sad lives. My arse on the lot of them.

I've never actually seen any flying saucers or strange lights but when you consider the size of the universe there's no way we're the only planet with evolved life forms. They should get in touch with us so we can get an intergalactic forum going! :D

Erm.............I have seen a flying saucer! :o Know....REALY! I have! If ya want to read this I`ll tell ya but its a long story!

About 98 or 99 I was workin in Skelmersdale, I used to go to work through the back roads past Haigh Hall. One morning about 05:30 I was drivin up the road through the fields and I saw these lights in the sky! I pulled over and parked me bike near a street lamp an took me helmet off to see better. What I saw was this thing hovering in the air that looked like a USAF F117 stealth Bomber in shape but appeared to be a lot bigger! it had lights blinking around it and what looked like a door or somthing closing cos one o the big lights on the side went out! I knew that its hard to tell if somthings moving in the air if ya cant judge the distance, so I stood under the street lamp and looked at it with the top o street lamp as a frame of referance. Sure enough the thing WAS just "hovering" in the air! By this time a moterist had pulled over coming the other way and he had got out and was looking at the same thing! Then after about a minit or two (hard to say how long really, could have been half a minit really but seemed longer) The thing just started moving off towards Rivington Pike, quite slowly at first and then......................SWOOOSH! It shot off at a rate of knots over Rivington and up into the sky! Me and the moterist just looked at each other, he got in his car and drove off, I jumped on me bike and went to work!
Personaly I find it hard to believe we are "visited" but I cant think what this thing was? there are no air bases around there and the Yanks wouldnt be testing secret aircraft around Wigan of all places! Bollocsed if I know wot it was! :o PS I wasnt smoking at the time and rarley did then! :o Oooooo I forgot to mention it made no sound at all! SO it didnt really go Swoosh! that was artistic licence!

Have not seen anything that wasn't astronomical or space Junk/sattelites, but I'm with Fran on this one, that statistically we can't be the only ones here.

And I suspect that if 'they' had the ability to send us a message, they probably wouldn't bother because we're not interesting enough. Well, perhaps they might watch in an anthropological 'lets watch the critters develop like a science project' sense. If 'they' had the technology to send messages faster than light, then we wouldn't be that interesting to them.

Let's face it, if anyone does pay a visit from the cosmos, our allies across the atlantic would only want to try to eat it, fcuk it or kill it...

Anyone heared of the avrocar? it's a U.S. built vecicle based on the principles of a flying saucer *officially! not a crackpot theory, the government released official video footage and stuff*(originally a german idea, I think they got it as war reparations, whereas we got the bantam.) It could only hover and move a few feet off the ground, but that was 50 years ago, 100 years ago an aeroplane could only fly that far, and now we fly sh!t into space, and even someone with a decent DIY background can build a plane (glider, microlite, etc) so it's not impossible that a government has managed to develop the idea further into what people believe are aliens.

i find it hard to believe that we are all alone in the universe. there maybe life out there. maybe not the same as us.
if this world developed the way many scientists believe (big bang theory) and if that is how life would begin on other planets then its less likely theres life out there.
life starting on earth it appears was a fluke. one chance in whoever knows how many, that the combination of things needed happened at the right time.

i don't like to think we are alone. its almost sad.

but heh if there is no alien life out there worry not. cos we still got brummies :D
