I got back from Springfield yesterday (No not THAT springfield!!!) and bought a magnetic tray for putting nuts and bolts in etc when taking bits of my bike (Bloody good for £3.00 !!!)
Anyway, when I got back I had a pocked full of loose change so I dumped it all in the magnetic tray.
When I emptied it in to our change jar, half of the 1p's stuck to the jar and the other half didn't??
Are the forgers out to rob us in 1p pieces instead of £20.00 notes ????

In the eighties they reduced the content of copper in the 1 and 2p's. Hence the magnetic properties of 1 and 2p's.

If you are really bored and stupid, you can put a 2 quid coin in the freezer overnight, then drop it into some boiling water then watch the middle fall out!

Cool :)
Errrrr how much is each piece worth now then?
:D :D
yeah this was their way of making the money at less cost, so literally old pennies are worth more than the new magnetic ones, it also played havoc with vending m/cs and the like...!
