Hi, I'm Badvoc [1] 34 year old bloke from Northern Ireland, I've been chairman of 2 mcc's over the year although currently I'm not in any clubs. My bike is here: www.geocities.com/bikersharley (http://www.geocities.com/bikersharley) had a few (ok a lot) of other bikes over the years before I took the steps to buy a Harley (never could justify the cost before... lol not sure I can now either)... don't know what else to say about my self... errr.... Bald with a novelty goatee beard :D

[1] the brighter among you may have guessed that from my username ;)

Hail Badvoc!!
- or is it just me that remembers the TV series 'Chelmsford 123'?

Cool Harley! Good to see you here. We (me and Mrs Reject - who you'll no doubt hear from soon enough) made quite a few friends over in Northern Ireland when we were over in Ballymena in January.

Bedlam is too nice a word for this place - more like Garth Marengy's Dark Place!!

lol - yes indeed that's where my name comes from, back in the late 80s I had long curly hair and a beard, my friends decided I looked like said character. That's of course all changed now as I'm bald, though the name has stuck... No comments about my floppy the frog cod piece ;)

Ballymena where the men are men and the sheep are scared :)

Glad you like the bike, lol it almost handles and brakes :)

Welcome Newbie type peep's.

Badvoc nice bike, dont listen to all the negative stuff bout Harleys on here its mainly only in jest. By the way its not meant to handle or stop, my softail wallows round corners buts quick enough. It dont stop too good and it cost a fortune but as you propably know there's just something about them that keeps you on em.

badvoc
02-06-2004, 09:28 AM
well it stops pretty well with the two cbr1000 calipers up front, handles very well for a Harley but perhaps not what would be counted as good compared to some other bikes.... Handles better than any jap crusier[1] I've tried but would be pathetic compared to more sporty bikes.

[1] I hate jap factory customs, it aint a custom if it comes out of a factory looking the way it ends up... and why buy a bike that trys to look like a Harley when you can get the real thing, I have to laugh at some of the stuff, jesus some of them even have little fake gearboxes sitting behind the engine. sad...

BTW I also have a GS1000E, a hardtailed gs850 and a VT500... Just sold a 1200 Bandit a few weeks ago.

I like my GT750 but I certainly wouldn't say no if someone gave me a Harley, especially if it was a Harley night train :)
I really don't think it sounds like potato potato potato though, it makes a noise like a really loud raspberry on fluffy cat belly - that is before said cat sticks it claws in yur head.

UK gold? whassat? have only got a little telly in the corner of the room and a satellite dish that isn't connected to anything!

I would even be good if Channel 4 showed it again - or you could buy it on DVD!!!!

What and get rid of your Red GT Custom type thing!!! I'll have it if you don't want it - lovely bike to ride, has a few teething troubles (see the Workshop) but it's nothing you can't get over! Better than the ZL!!!!!!!

Now then Mitch - you know better than to remind me of the ZL600, I loved that bike!!!! *sniffle*. I'm finding now though that I need bigger and bigger bikes to get the "buzz". Even the GT750 isn't big enough for me now - I fancy a ZL 1000 when I finish uni.

Fine' but I wouldn't know where to start, and if I did I wouldn't have the time or money, (If I do have to fork out it goes on the Trumpet).
Plus, any spare time I do get I want to get out and ride.
Of course, if you are offering to customise my Jap 'non custom' FREE and have it back to me by the weekend then I really don't mind, because I can't afford to buy an already customised 'non custom', custom jap?!? :p ;)

Now, now calm down.

I'm sure we're all glad you ride a bike, I know I am. Personally I don't give a stuff what you ride, even a horse for christ sake.

I think the point was about the use of the word custom. I ride a Harley. I've changed quite a few bits to make it mine. It's distinctly different to 99% of the Harleys I see but it ain't a custom!

A custom bike is art (good art or bad art it IS art) A true expression of the creator's individuality whether that creator be the builder or the specifier it is the creators art. In my view there can hardly be such a thing as a factory custom it's an oxymoron.

If it's a factory special call it a factory special. If it's a Donkey don't call it a horse! (Donkeys are good but they ain't horses see). I think that's the point not a criticism of your chosen mount.

That depends on what time of day of it is - right now, the room next door is an Newspaper office on the outskirts of Brighton!! The Room next door is a state of mind! :D

Now now, you are really glad you got rid of the ZL aren't you? I wonder if that nice Mr Chaz wants to buy a load of bits off it?
