On my EN500 is ,what I think to be,the original type of shocks. Find them a bit bouncy and sometimes bottoming out. Now,not having lots of her maj's coinage, can anyone recommend a better pair of shocks to fit that I could scrounge off fleabay,or similiar. All useful input appreciated. Cheers,Blue (38):):thumbsu:

Mrs Shifty's got a pair of Hagons on her ER-5, I had some on my old GS550 too. Very good shocks, great quality.

Yep,I concur.Ain't the cheapest (£101.50 direct from Hagons) but they're well worth the cash.

Couldn't disagree more. Had a pair of them cheap (well for shocks) Hagons. All the chrome flaked off before a seal went and one lost all its oil. Pah, rubbish.

Admittedly the chrome ain't great (the idea of chroming springs is stupit anyway, springs being flexible and chrome not.....) but the seals on my last pair died after 10 years service, can't ask for more'n that.OXONs or Streetshox (same things, rebadged) lasted mebbe 18 months if I was lucky

Yep, them's sound.

Tektro - you must have had a bad pair, the chrome on mine lasted ages, and Mrs Shifty's are holding up well considering the bike hardly ever gets cleaned.

Had the cheaper Hagon's on my Sportster for 3 years and 20k miles. Bit of rust on the springs otherwise no problem. improve the ride over the Harley crap no end.

I've not had any rust problems with my hagons which were chromed, I ride all winter even in smow and don't clean the bike anywhere near as often as I should. the hagons came with the bike and eventually needed replacement, I ended up with streetshoks or somit and they are fine after 3 years on a sidecar outfit where they take a beating so I'd say they are worth a shot.
