I did a little bimble down to the 2nd British Diesel bike rally in sussex this weekend. Just spent a couple of hours their around Sat lunchtime. While most of the bikes were Enfields with a single cylinder genny motor there were a cuple of interesting ones.

Notably this one with a v-twin lump (primary casing is temporary while he thinks out and makes a decent one

This one with a smart car diesel lump in an R80GS

And finally a twin cylinder 950 which I heard running and sounded like a triumph with a serious knocking like a big end going

And the nearest to Rat is here - he had ridden from Ilminster on it at a top speed of 45 as he hasn't sorted the gearing. Polaris quad engine, francis barnet gearbox, original suzuki rear sprocket and running gear.

By the way it was heald at the Bat & Ball pub near Wisborough Green in W.Sussex which looks like a cracking place for a mini-rally, happy with bikes, K&B Real Ales (now badger) Stowford press cider, decent menu (mains up to £8, plougmans £5), big bear garden, gazebo and 3 camping fields with a bonfire pit in one. Overnight camping seems to be £5 pay at the bar and you can just turn up.

If they have the rally there again I'm camping anyway

damn I missed this :(

It's pretty local to me and always interesting to look at the machinery. Nice and relaxed there.

thanks for the pics, not seen anything like them in the last couple of years.
