Does/did a lot of engraving on custom bikes.

Anyone heard of him, or possibly know if he is still around and if so how to contact him?

Google brings up examples of his work but no details for the man himself. :(

Friend of mine is trying to get some info on a chop he now owns that has some of Don's work on it from about 20some years ago.

Thought if we can find him he might like to know it's still about too! :)

Ah that wouldd be realy cool, thanks Blue! With thanks to Pigpen off BW for the scanned pic this is the bike, BSH gave it away in a comp many years ago:

Now residing with a mate of mine who is hoping to get it back out on the road some time this year. Unfortunately at some point in the last 20-odd years the bike has been parted from the plate/reg doc hence needing as much info as poss on its origins so it can be re-registered..........

Don B was never in the NCC. He's an oldtime craftsman, a gun engraver who probably came to most people's notice when he engraved some of John Reed's show bikes - the Triumph 'Old Don' was named for him.

A friend of mine from London dug him out of retirement a couole of years ago to do some work on his bike (you know who, Taff).

i belive he started off engraving shotguns, have a sniff around classic shotgun forums. he was an old boy when i wasn`t so he may have shuffled off this mortal coil by now :eek:

Don is very much alive. And working on projects of his own choosing. Yam now has his number.

There's been a lot follow in his footsteps, especially in the scooter world.
None can touch him.

The number has been passed on, with much thanks. Will keep you posted about how my mate gets on. At the very least I'm hoping the bike will come out of his bloody van shortly and I can get some photos of it now!
