'Official Press Statement from the event organising committee of the Rock & Blues Custom Show 2008

RBCS 25 – One Percent Entertainments Group are now re-issuing our event premises licence today 28th May 2008 having issued it and temporarily withdrew it from Catton Hall, this time it will be issued for our spiritual home at Coney Grey Showground. Pentrich, Derbyshire. We have received not only local support from the surrounding area of Ripley and Pentrich but Nation wide over our event website we have received thousands of emails commenting on the general publics support for this show. So What may have seemed a static position has now been stepped up through legal advice and what with the owner of Coney Grey showground’s support we fully intend to go against all the recent negative pressure about this prestigious event and persevere with re-organising RBCS 25 along with local authorities of the Amber valley area. One Percent Entertainments Group are completely and utterly dedicated to making RBCS 25 work and run again this year as one of the safest festivals in the UK and are drafting in some of the UKs leading public entertainment specialist company’s in the country to ensure its smooth and orderly running, “no news there then, just business as usual”
We would like to remind the general public that this event has an impeccable safety record and in 24 years of history as never suffered any occasions of public disorder. We can but hope that the police decide not to put up objections towards the R&B being granted its licence.

does that mean its on or the Laws are are applying for a licence to get it then?

Looks to me that they're saying - the licence was in place then withdrawn and now in place again. I suppose it's now down to the objectors as to whether the application goes though without further discussion.

Seems that a licence is issued without consultation and it's then down to a hearing if relevant authorities have concerns? Or maybe I havent understood the process at all. :confused:

I think they meant to say that they are re-issuing the application for the licence as they 'withdrew' the previosu application.

And they are re-issuing for the original venue as opposed to the new one.

They'll have to make a brand new application which has to be copied to all responsible authorities for a 28 day consultation period.
On recieving any objections to the application within that 28 days then a Licensing Hearing will have to be convened for a decision to the granting of the licence to be decided.

erm, i was taking the piss but now theres a possibility. . .'cos we need a van with towbar for our caravanning excusions cos we have a boat and golf and fishing stuff and 4 dogs, too much for the 4x4 to contain. will speak to Himself about it.
