They're like a big Bandit - a bit softer than I expected it to be. Performance is much the same as a Bandit too, the look is just different, y'know?

Personally, I rated the ZRX1100/1200 Kwak more.

Or even (dare I say it) the XR13 or whatever it is now.

You looking to replace the Bandit?

I loathed my XJR ... most boring bike I've ever owned. Fast, comfortable, good handling, good tank range ... just f'kin' boring. Mind you, I think I'm the only person in the world who thinks so - everyone else who's had one seems to love 'em.
 :D

I didnt say I didnt think the XJR wasnt boring - just that it was better than the GSX14.

I must admit, I much preferred the XJR to the GSX14. Felt like less of a barge and I preferred the motor.

:) I think the Kwak's the best ... but only in the green Lawson colours. ;)

I`ve got a XJR13, crackin bike, 8 years old now but still awsome
2 of my mates had GSX14s one was left in my garage for 10 months after he got divorsed,
my other mate kept complaining about the handling and had the shocks changed to olins and the fork springs also, but he is only 5`5" and 10 stone so??? but he changed it for a 57 plate Aprillia Tourano or something, thats now in me garage for some reason?? but the gits tock the keys with him
i didn`t like the 14 so much
i loved the ZRX11 but when i went to get one the kwak centre in Cradley Heath wouldn`t budge on the price of a 2 year old green un i wanted, was paying cash, and it was £800 dearer than i got the 13 for, and not in as good condition and higher milage
i paid £4,800 for a 2 year old XJR1300SP with 600 miles on the clock in 2002
and its fuckin ace

In 2003 I tried the XJR13, GSX14 and ZRX12. (Honda dealer wouldn't let me try the CB13, so stuff him.)

ZRX felt a bit too sporty a riding position, I could feel the cramp coming on in my leg. Shame, cuz I liked everything else about it.

GSX felt cumbersome, engine felt like it wanted to go balls out but was restricted. (Course, you can get loads of tuning done on them now.)

XJR handled just right, bit old fashioned (like me) not the quickest on the road (like me) but a stayer that'd keep going for hours in comfort with plenty in reserve. (Like me.)

Just my experience. Others are available.

buy one they are great so so many mods to be done to them to make them o so great easy to work on to.
Ive had mine since 02 brand new out of the creat done 48000 miles on her and still going strong.
You do get a few problems with them which are worth looking out for when you buy one.
Mainly the rear shocks which tend to leek, thay do like to eat rubber as well,a back tryer tends to last 3500 miles and the front 6000 before the old bill tack a intrest in them.

Top stuff, i think you have to go for for these things when you feel them. They dont do it for me, never have done, they came in late compared to other muscle bikes and just dint have the spark for me.

I love my XJR (http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb245/aceofsprays/XJR1300%20Streetfighter/) but they are sooo comon now, hence why i chopped mine up. The missus has one too, she loves it coz it is a lazy riders bike and she is a lazy rider.

I have just changed the inlet rubbers for FJ12 ones as they have a bigger bore size, seems to have smoothed out and increased the midrange nicely. Just got to get a K&N sorted and replace the zorst as it has rotted badly.

My next project will be the CB13, got to save some pennies for that though and i am not bored of JLO yet either... :D :D
