there should be a t for your top dead center (check with piece if copper wire down no one or four plug hole ;) ,the last mark before t is your static firing point, the two furthest away are your advanced marks 3 or 4 thosand revs per min ish ;)

wot way should the cams sit?

ok!!! the marks on the cams run parelel with the top of the head :) . if you've not got the cams mixed up- it should be prity straight forward
