Just watched the money program on TV..It turns out that the government pay 18.5 pence per KwH for electricity generated by wind farms as a subsidy..now we all buy electricty for about 9.5 pence per KwH from our supplier. The wind farms have to buy a certain amount of electricity from the national grid to start the turbines turning so they get it at a trade price of 6.5 pence...so they can buy electricity at 6.5pence pass it through their turbines and sell it back to the grid and claim an 18.5 pence subsidy..and they call it free electricity...brilliant....what a bunch of crooks... :D John
