A little perspective….
This is summat I’ve been thinking about for a wee while so go with it eh
Lets start with a simple assumption
1%(0.1) of the population (range 17 to 65 for this) own and ride a motorcycle…
Ok so far….not unreasonable eh
Then lets say
1% of this 1% (0.01) actually bother to buy a motorcycle magazine at all
Then lets say that
1% of this 1%(0.001) buy a custom bike magazine, ie 100% or BSH even Streetfighter’s
All of which fill a very small niche compared with say MCN/Bike/PB etc..
(and no I haven’t checked circulation figures but I’m sure someone will!!)
Then lets say that 1% (0.0001) of this1% (0.001) of 1%(0.01) of 1%(0.1) of the population actually go on specific bike related websites and voice an opinion about anything then surely everybody here can see how bloody insignificant ANYTHING we say in these forums actually is? Its not real……
And the only people that get wound up is us….the masses really don’t care, and lets be realistic, there’s a hardcore of posters on most forums, of and again ‘im gonna be generous, and say 25 to 30 people.
Now wether you like it or not the opinions of this few a people really disnae matter..to anyone except themselves
Right..
Ive said my bit…

Actually the opinions of the few do matter, because they are the only ones who bother, are you saying we should not care about anything that is said on here or anywhere else for that matter?
The few people that do stand and up and make their voices heard matter a lot, they have taken the time to post something they feel passionate about and thats important. Whether anyone listens is another problem........

People should listern, if your talking to someone about something and they start taking the piss when your in a pub or something, it usually ends in punch to the mouth. It's lack of respect. And then said people will moan about kids these days with no respect:rolleyes:
Firstly, my portly compadré, your maths is fucking atrocious.
However, a point i've made before, and intend to again, is that this forum should matter to nobody as much as it should to the heirarchy of the magazine from which it is spawned. More often than not full of nonsense, there is occasionally a subject brought up raising concerns about the mag, and it's contents or direction, and once the dross is sifted thru, this should be seen as a fucking gift by those in charge of it. To have a forum by and about your product is a market researcher's dream, saves asking questions at rallys, dishing questionnaires out to the tune of 'how do you think the mag could be improved... blah blah blah', waiting for letters to arrive, which would be insignificantly seldom compared with the net responses.
Unfortunately, the occasional smug and belittling response, and/or subsequent locking of a thread is the best we get.
And, young Ronaldo (http://img352.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dunceeu1.jpg), 1% of anything, is 0.01, therefore 1% of that first 1% is therefore 0.0001, etc etc....

They should give a toss about opinions, and they do as long as its theirs, dont give a toss about any opinions that are different.
As pointed out by Taff, lots of businessess would give their eye teeth to get FREE feedback on their product, company I work for had to do one of those selective buyer feedback studies, one day 10 people £20 grand
Jazz publishing get it for nowt and its a rare old event that any of them bother to reply to stuff on here
