Whoops!!

Just upset the estate!! Tried the bike yesterday, and it wouldn't start, battery was facked. Fitted new one today, and before it started, it backfired. The loudest back fire I've ever got out of a bike. In the front garden whch is surrounded by high walls. The chavs at the end of the road talking in their crappy novas thought someone had been shot!!!:D :D

If you turn the ignition off while riding, turn the throttle up, still in gear, then turn the ignition on again after a few seconds it will usually backfire quite loudly, can even damage the exhaust...John

snapping the throttle shut when riding through lozell's with the resulting bang is funny, you've never seen cotton pickers move so fast ;)

I used to do that quite a lot on the M25 etc when carved up - pull alongside, do the above, then point the left hand at the offending car in a 'handgun' shape and make a suitable recoil type gesture at the moment of backfire, watch the panic... especially good in tunnels...

...but as these days the cops tend to take the policy of shoot you first and then find out later that you didn't actually have a gun, my fun has been spoiled. :rolleyes:
