I'm going to have to come up with some new form of cunning plan for keeping my legs dry (it would appear some manky boy cat has sprayed on my seat hence the smell of wet cat on my bike trousers) and also warm!

MUST GET SEAT DONE! (re covered and re foamed!)

bloik

can't stand that smell
wash with vinegar & warm water after a good normal wash-neutralises the apepal (alledgedly)

as for your cold ass

that bloody picture of your spotty knickers is stuck in my mind, and has set me wondering if you have spotty leggings too

good thing you don't wear Fongs

next time, just chuck the bloody water out from the tent front
shouting

"gaude l'eau"

I washed my bike trousers last week and the smell came out no problem, but you have to use special stuff and it costs a fortune so don't want to be doing that all the time.

Am going clean seat when i get home with lemon disinfectant cos they hate the smell of citrus. Problem is that the tom cat will have been attracted by the smell of my 2 cats who use my bike as a sofa when its sat on the path... i know its not them thats done it, but no doubt the tom cat will have felt that he needs to mark his territory to keep them off.

Getting the seat sorted should solve all the problems - more expense.

And no.. I don't have spotty leggings!

I was thinking of a way, But I doubt you`d be able to ride your bike safely with your legs in that position ;)

My sweet innocent little mind is struggling with what you're talking about - I was considering a cushion in a plastic bin liner or something.....

If the cats are anything like the ones around here, they climb up under the cover and onto the seat and keep dry. Thats what they used to do with my trike, the back seat was always covered in cat hair. placing a plank of wood with several 4" nails through it soon sorted that out though. ;)

you obviously didn`t see the bright orange powder coated metal plate that fitted onto the front seat with 6" nails welder into it. when I had the trike it was parked in a corner of the yard, so sometimes it was nessesary to climb over the seat to reach the other side, and several times I`ve landed on the plate/nails when my foot slipped in the wet leaving nail punchure marks in both my ar$e and crutch

Well.... I really shouldnt have complained should I? -4 when I finally got the Yorkshire Post building, and it is universally suspected that the thermometer is optimistic on the warm side!

My choke had frozen and i couldnt get the bloody thing on! Then the snow started.... then I clearly lost my sanity, poured hot water over the choke, freed it up and rode to work in thick freezing fog, snow and on roads which hadn't been gritted!

Twas definitely a big muff day - even with them I was contemplating the fact that it would be much toastier if I got some of those heated grips to go with the big muffs... mmmmmm the warmth!

You lot have got snow? I'm dead jealous ...

Down 'ere the trees are fantastically white and it looks very picture postcardy, but there's no snow. :(

Kylie
19-02-2008, 10:10 AM
its only the dead fine stuff - its a bit too cold for proper snow, maybe later today... not bothered what it does tonight cos i'm not on the bike tomorrow anyway.

Just not looking forward to trying to get the bike to start again after work, cos i'm not sure where i'm going to get boiling water from!

I love that phrase! :D

It's a great old wives' tale, isn't it? We get, what, minus 10 or so here in the UK and people say it's too cold for snow. They get minus 70 (or so they said on the telly the other day) in the Antarctic and it still snows there.

boiling water isn`t nessesary, just get a cup of warm water out of the tap in the loo.
But asap get some WD40 or oil sprayed down the cable as you`ll only create problems pouring water over it

Kylie
