I've been living up here for almost three years, I teach woodcarving twice a week I've got people of all ages from ten to 70+ years of age attending my classes..

The other day I had the car MOT'd (it passed) as I concluded paying the bill, I said to the woman Thank you Sarha! She replied "My name's not Sarha!" I said Ho! I always thought it was!? She said no you've got me mixed up with daughter she's Sarha.... Ho right! Though I don't know your daughter? The woman said yes you do she attends your classes! Ho...Right! I said an left.....

Well I Don't know this Sarha and she deffo DON'T attend my classes! I asked my son Josh he says this girl is about fifteen and her parents think butter wouldn't melt in her mouth and she's actually hanging out with a load of Chav types....

I don't understand.. If her parents think that she's at my classes

1, Why haven't they asked her Because she's under sixteen who is the responsible adult she must attend with (it's a requirement and stated on all the information leaflets and posters)!?

2, Where's her woodcarvings that she's made?

What do yer think of that? What would you do?

Not a lot you can do really if her parents are that naive they havent asked the same questions. Spose the only thing to do would be if you see her again to say you'd checked for the name on your register and it didnt show up, innocently ask if Sarha is a shortened version of something you might not have recognised....

So where do you do these wood carving classes? I could quite fancy that

Only one question to ask your self really;
If it was your fifteen year old daughter, would you want to be told?

Might be nothing they can do about it but the that's their problem

If it was my daughter I would want to know what she was doing. I am having more than enough headaches at the moment due to my teenage daughter.

I think I would also be more than a bit pissed if my daughter was being so deceitful about her movements. Honesty is a virtue and lying shows a lack of respect. Not something that is taught in schools nowadays.

Oh god, I am really showing my age now.

Chopper.

She's being somewhat more deceitful that I ever was, but can you honestly said you never told a fib about where you were to your parents? I know I did - or I'd never have been allowed out!

With that sort of name she sounds muslim or indian and if she is, at 15 they may be getting ready to marry her off to some old man from back home, so that he will be able to come here to live with his new wife...If that's the case,I should keep quiet and let her enjoy what is left of her childhood before they take it away from her. It's not a question of what would you want if it was your daughter, they have different customs and have been known to murder their own children if they bring shame on the family..

Of course she may be an ordinary English girl with a funny name.. :D John

Ask yourself this, If anything should happen to her during the time she has said she was attending your classes & that you now know she has never turned up, what will your answer be when someone says that whatever trouble she has got caught up in, could have been prevented if her parents had some sort of knowledge about where she really was.

It won't be your fault but you can just see someone passing part of the buck onto your plate.

If you never knew, then that'd be fine but now you do, make sure your covered.

bloody obvious, speak to the girl herself and tell her you know, and are going to tell her parents. You def need to cover yourself on this one, especially as you know she is using you as an excuse, s'not like she 's saying she going to the library or something.

Keep your head down, you already told the mother you don't know her daughter, if you have miss spelt the girls name and she is a white christian girl you could mention it at the collage office, but if she is from a family that might have arranged marriages, you could cause a lot of damage, including having her shipped off to india or somewhere to live a life of slavery...some of these foreigners are nasty buggers...best to keep out of it...John

I asked my son Josh he says this girl is about fifteen and her parents think butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, but she's actually hanging out with a load of Chav types....?

so, you dont know her but your son does, so you can contact her then?
and how do you know who she is hanging out with, when you dont know her?

Difficult situ to be in, s'like when you know so and so is having an affair, and his wife is one of your top 3 best friends. Tell or not? Only tell if asked?
risk losing great friend cos didnt tell?
risk losing great friend cos DID tell and hubby wont let her talk to you again?
. . .have hoooge argument with own Old MAn in kitchen in whispers cos friend has bought the knock off round our house and wants to use a bedroom?

Certainly do! I made the mistake of getting her in doors to read mi post... I got all kinds of "You should have! What IF's, etc, etc.." So on She Who Must Be Obeyed's orders I chopped the names place and other locality type stuff from post and also lost some threads...
