an aluminium dog tag, which you plug into your pc's usb port, fill in the infomation about yourself, inc a pic if you wish, plus next of kin, medical details and any information you would like certain people to be aware of in the unfortunate event of you having an accident.
you can password the stored information so no one can edit your details.
plus it has multi lingual support, which means that although all your details may be entered in english . if the tag is plugged into any pc in any european country, the user has the option to view your details in thier own language.
this is a stand alone item and does not require any pre installed software.

Absolutely fab - i am supposed to wear a medic tag and rarely do. It would certainly help if i got as far as hospital before they attack me with the latex gloves!

Ooh.. and they even have the extra bit it looks like i might be able to engrave with the rest

THE EXTRA TAG IS OPTIONAL extra. just a plain tag
they are only cheap and can be engraved with set designs or logo's or left blank.
i'll get that bit added to the site as i bloody forgot

I'm a bit of a scheptic about this kind of stuff.

When I'm lying there, bleeding at the side of the road, It'll be a lot quicker for a paramedic to read a piece of paper that it is to produce a laptop and boot up the USB stick.

Sometimes, It's the simple methods that work best.

What do I know, they're just my thoughts.

wow, everyones up in arms when the govt tells us we have to carry id cards. perhaps they should have released these and we would have all thought, "well its a id card full of my personal info. but it look sooooooo cool!!!! this assumes that whoever finds you unconscious knows what they are, and knows how to use them. and has a pc handy!!
nice if you like that sort of thing, and probably next years must have gadget!! :D

Thats why the one with the extra tag is great - instant info and more detailed stuff ont he usb bit (for those of us with a list of allergies as long as the A1!)

Only bit for me is its not 100% waterproof cos i have a habit of ending up being thrown into pools in faro and things.

I just think that this new method of alert could potentially have more flaws than the older more simple method.

one advantage to these is that is is multi lingual. so foriegn medical staff can read it it their own lingo. usb sticks are a very good way of storing info.

i'm sure we can sort out rubber edging to stop rattles.

Evidently they tried to incorporate inbuilt software that would include scottish and brummie. but it would mean that due to the size of the finished product, it would likely cause you an injury in itself :)

Usb sticks are a goodway of storing info? Yes, including .exe files and other nasties. I can't actually see any professional sticking one of these into any computer to read the memory. They'd be taking one hell of a risk.
