A friend of mine, who retired early from corporate life but didn't want to completely rest on his laurels, went into the JobCentre Plus office in Manchester a few days ago to see what kind of jobs he may be interested in.
He saw a number of full-time / shift working jobs - call centres and food processing factory jobs for example but these didn't interest him, nor was he really looking for a full-time position. He was on his way out when he saw a small poster advertising for a part-time position as a Gynaecologist's Assistant.
Being primarily interested in part-time work, he thought he ought to show some interest. He asked the guy behind the desk if he could have more details.
The JobCentre Plus man sorted through his files. "Oh yes here it is. The job entails you meeting and greeting the lady patients on arrival, chatting to them to make them comfortable and relaxed and then preparing them so they are ready to see the gynaecologist.
What does 'preparing' them entail? - my friend asked.
Well, it says here that you will have to help them undress, which can also include helping them out of their underwear. Then they are required to lie down while you very carefully wash their genital regions, after which you then apply shaving foam and gently shave off all their pubic hair. When you've done that you are required to rub in soothing oils all around the shaved area so that they're relaxed and ready for the gynaecologist's examination. It's 20 hours a week and the salary is £64,000. If you are interested you need to go over to Liverpool - that's about 48 miles from here.
My friend said "But why Liverpool - isn't the job here in Manchester?"
"Oh yes" came the reply, - but that's where the end of the queue is!
