Went out this morning with the intention of buying meself a new winter textile jacket and windstopper.

Went to 2 bike shops locally and both had only very few choices in the ladies section. Why dont these prats realise there are more of us women riders these days!!!!! AND WE DONT ALL RIDE ****TY SCOOTERS AND WANT BETTY FECKIN BOOP ALL OVER US

Open your feckin eyes and smell the coffee - WOMEN SPEND MONEY YOU TWATS

And WE ARE SHAPED DIFFERENT TO MEN - got it ????????? Mens jackets are useless to us.

I dont want a fucking PINK FECKIN CONCOCTION WITH SPARKING DIAMANTE ****E ON IT..... You understand.

I want a proper, all black, womanLY shaped, PROPER textile jacket to keep me warm, with darts in the right place so it fits me like it should.

Came home, without making a purchase, put trumpet away, got Harley out and went for blast - ahhhhhhhhhhh felt better for that.

Trumpets nice but my Harley is the one I turn to when I need to chill out. Does IT for me every time.

Rant over - sorry folks, needed to let off steam :D

That's ok CB...we understand how you women like to do certain things...and now as an added bonus you've got ....

Two bikes to clean and polish...

Deep down inside you must have known that HOG meeting where they showed you how to polish a bike would come in handy.. :D John

He does. He has a urban camouflaged coloured jacket & trousers for sale for around £60. If your interested, I can find out if he still has them.

I wish people wouldnt be so rude about someone who had lost a great deal of weight. Its not to be ridiculed but to be praised. Takes a lot of will power and this guy has been through agony with it. So I am proud of him. Thank you very much. There's a lot of anguish that can go hand in hand with weight problems and it's cruel to make fun of it and you can cause a lot of damage in doing so. Think before you type please. :)

But really, although there are more women riding these days, you still just a tiny fraction to the men!! I don't ride with any women, and i know a few that do, but not many, most women on the scene just ride bitch, where they belong!!!:D :D

Cherry, if it's any help to you, Mrs Shifty (who is most definitely proper-woman-shaped) has a textile jacket from Frank Thomas' Lady Rider range.

It's plain black, no sparkly shít or anything, and (in Mrs Shifty's words) "it's lovely, you can fit your tits in and everything!".

There's loads of clothing specifically designed for the laydeeeez now. Just maybe not at your local Harley dealer ;)

Cant say I bother too much - lace up leathers and a short textile jacket's as waterproof and protected as I've ever been. (Dont forget the paras!)

I wear mens stuff
Womens jackets tend to be too short in the sleeves to reach the handlebars without riding up.

they also seem to be mainly bumfreezers.

its getting better though

I bought a nice frank thomas jacket at Kelso show for £40. Mens small

Just asked the honourable lady, and yes, it's fine for when the weather's a bit "nipply". Loads of growing space and bags of adjustment. She says though that she rarely gets nipply in it cos it's so fraggin' warm.

Not sure about the name of it. I'll have a look online but failing that we could maybe meet up with you someplace and you can have a gander.

Can't find the exact one on Frank Thomas website, so maybe it's discontinued or summat. I've taken some pics so I'll try and get them posted here if I can work out how. The main features according to the Mrs are adjuster zips on the hips and a belt, and that Frank Thomas are very generous bust-wise (OK so that's gonna draw some interesting comments :D )

Anyroadup, I'll try and work out how to post the pics.

When it comes to protective, waterproof clothing, you can't beat Hein Gericke! Expensive but bloody good stuff. In fact, after a quick look on their site, I found this jacket

http://www.hein-gericke.com/uk/product_info.php/cPath/1_15_114/products_id/3073

£100 for a waterproof jacket isn't too bad. I'm sure if you look further, you'll find a few more.

the main pob with bike jackets/trousers. is that the size on the label has fuck all to do with the size of the item.

i'm a 44 chest but could'nt get into one brand in a 48

ended up with a frank thomas 42

you really need to try them on and not buy online.

The Frank Thomas Sofia Jacket, its aquapore waterproof, has white piping detail, and a tribal design on front, armour on shoulder and elbows, but i'm large up top, and small in the middle, with madonna cones in winter, and it fits a treat, it is definately woman looking, but not pink and not overly girly.

The leather i got, is also FT, and that is a leiah, the piping is black, but reflective at night. Its elasticated at side/hip, and has a really warm removable body warmer.

but the jacket isn't for me-it looks as though its up too far in the neck & woudl irritate me.

My current jacket is a Shoei-grey, mens fit, super soft textile, has withstood 2 scottish monsoon holidays :D

unfortunately Shoei don't actually do motorcycle clothing(apart from t-shirts) anymore
here it is

You dont give constructive opinion though do you? I've read through your posts and it seems you just come on here to snarl at people. If you dont like the threads that have been started, then dont read them or dont contribute to them - its your choice. Or, better still, you could bring some of your obvious intellect into the forum and start some threads of your own and then we can all have our opinion on whether or not we feel that they are pertinent, or just inane twaddle.
