Just checking to see if there is enough interest to set up a rolling road day.

There is a new rolling road been set up on the business park where I have my workshop. The two blokes that own it are biker friendly and a good laugh. If there is enough interest they will drop the prices for tests. (Price to be confirmed once we have an idea of interest) You get three runs and a print out as well.

There is plenty of space at the business park for a hell of a lot of bikes. I can arrange a burger van, maybe some music etc. Really make a day of it.

The business park is easy to get to from the M5 or the A303. Nearest big town is Taunton or Yeovil. The test day would be on a weekend. If you are building something or have a bike that is not registered, there is plenty of room for bikes to be brought in vans or on trailers.

Please let me know what you think.

Never did understand the objection to a rolling road test. If it is going to go boom on the rolling road, whats to stop it going boom when you bury the throttle on the road?

You are still nailing the throttle, you are still screwing the guts out of it. Going boom on the rolling road or the highway is just geography. At least with the rolling road you get to know what the engine was doing prior to it going bang.

Doesn't look like it does it....They set up a rolling road at most rally's these days, and even when there are thousands of people at the rally, you still don't have to wait long to get on them...I bet the majority of people on this forum have never used one...and as mentioned...you can get overenthusiastic and blow the bike to bits...especially if it is air cooled....John

Aint got a bike worth putting on a rolling road at the moment, but when I do, it is going on there for a laugh. Rolling road days i have been to (For yank V8's and the likes) are a huge laugh... and when you see a tuned Dodge Viper give it some stick, you gain a new respect for some cars... (summat like 950BHP if i remember correctly)... sounded fucking great regardless... though i had tinnitus for nearly a week afterwards... worth every second of it :D
