watching billy connelly last night trundling around new zealand on his trike, but in my ignorence i have'nt a clue as to what it is?

I believe the one he's using in New Zealand is a Harley based trike (shop bought). In his series travelling around Britain he used his other trike, which I believe is a VW based one (again shop bought).

Sad as I am, I was trying to work out what back patch he was wearing. Anyone got a clue ?

It's a country in the Southern Hemisphere! :D
His top & bottom rockers say "Too Old To Die Young" but I've no idea about the centre patch or if he has one.

It's a Harley Trike, bought (or borrowed) in NZ. Makes sense and is cheaper/easier to obtain vehicles in the country where they are filming.

In the Uk he uses a Boom Trike, complete with their special towing system.

It isn't a "backpatch", more of an item of humour.
There is a celtic skull type thing in the middle with "Too Old" on a top rocker
and another "To" where one might put an "MC" in middle right,
plus a bottom rocker with the words "Die Young"
The colours and font choice would get most people in serious trouble.
But,
