I was aghast to read in the latest Back Street Heroes Mag. letters page that Tiny Bannister is still at large and able to perpetuate his despicable lifestyle with the help of this magazine. This guy places very well written small-ads which appeal to certain single mums who are perhaps a little in need of a "good" guys attention. He sweet talks his way into their life then, after obtaining access to hearts/ homes/ vehicles etc. steals what he can and vanishes leaving the lady and her kids lives in pieces. 6 years ago this guy did my sister over in this way, and she, too, met him through an ad in BHS personals. Her first contact with him was at 12 Gloucester Terrace, Leeds, which turns out to be Armley prison! OK, she soon realised this but the guy had such plausible excuses that she was taken in. He robbed her of a car, home electricals, jewellery and kids toys. Police were involved and it turns out he had a string of similar offences, but mostly manages to evade the law as each crime amounts to what is considered meagre sums. My sis went on the Trisha TV show about this, (still shown on re-runs) and it was in the red-top newspapers, BSH also ran an article back then warning about him! Please, ladies, be very careful when replying to personal ads.

I agree with Catzooo. Tiny Bannister has been the bane of several magazines' lives, and still continues to carry on with his unpleasant career as a particularly nasty and underhand con man.

Over the last few years, we have managed to stop him placing personal ads, but obviously we are powerless to prevent him from answering an ad placed by a lady. In fact, he was one of the reasons that we stopped taking ads from prisoners (sorry gentlemen in the big house, it only takes one...) and instigated the 'Box Number' system for all females which, (if you're familiar with the BSH Smalls, you will know this) means that we won't print a girl's address or even phone number, and that we will instead allocate a 'box number' and then forward on replies to their ad.

Of course, it's then up to the lady whether she wants to reveal her details when answering those letters, although I'd advise that you try and get to know something about someone before letting them know where you live. Bannister doesn't appear to be very imaginative when it comes to names, and generally uses his surname with perhaps two or three choices of first name ('Adrian' is one that springs to mind). To be honest, ladies, if you get a reply from someone called Bannister, then don't answer.

Seems to highlight a problem in the prison system too - all letters to and from inmates are read and censored, beats me why the ppl doing this censoring can't be made aware of inmates backgrounds and prevent this "grooming" happening at source. I guess the answer is a lack of money and resources.

i've got one, somewhere in the loft. Will try but no promises to find it.

he has a tiny wodgy which is why he hates women so much, hysterical laffing at the pants down stage I have heard.

he has oft been called ''peewe'' Bannister.

I have several heart breaking stories on record about this utter utter ****e.

So the moral of this story is to ask any potential boyfriends to drop their pants on a first date :D

There's a photo (not a good one) in the Smalls in BSH218, but I haven't got that pic on file. He was also on a Channel 4 programme about 'love rats' about three years ago.

well 6'7" and covered in tatoos must give some clues...I shouldn't take too much notice of the willy size, almost anyone who is 6'7" is going to have a small willy by comparison...people say Grav has an enormous one.. but then, if you are only three ft tall..it's bound to look big.... :D John
