hotel near carlisle

Not sure if it's close enough (right county) but the Cross Keys at Tebay used to be very good.

the old schoolhouse at tebay, just down the street from the cross keys (step out of the pub, turn left and walk up the hill, its on your rh side at the top) is biker friendly, more a b+b or bunkhouse (depending how many of you there are ) than a hotel, but comfy warm and friendly and cheap!!!. we used it as an overnight stop when we did the le-jog run with the katana club the other year.

Oh God, hope it's not the usual case of a pub suffering a refurb! Had many happy nights pissed in there, camping round the back and some great rides all round that area.
