'The BMF is to add a west of England show to its successful portfolio of motorcycle events for 2008. The new event, The BMF South-West Bike Show, will be held on 21st and 22nd June at the Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
Live Promotions, who on behalf of the Federation organise the BMF’s four other shows, have acquired the rights to the well-established South-West Motorcycle Show, held for many years every June at the Bath and West Showground. For 2008 the show dates of 21st and 22nd June will slot neatly between the BMF’s Garden of England Motorcycle Show (GEMS) in Kent and Kelso BikeFest in the Scottish Borders.
The announcement was made at the BMF’s Annual General Meeting, on Saturday by BMF Events Director Tony Young. Speaking after the announcement, Tony said: “We have wanted a BMF event in the west for some time so this is a wonderful opportunity for us. Live Promotions have run an annual Truckfest at the Bath and Wells Showground for over twenty years and so have a wealth of local experience which will prove extremely valuable in this new joint venture”.
As with the other BMF Shows, Live Promotions will organise and run the event with the BMF advertising and promoting the event in its magazine, through its clubs and in other publications. Discounts will be given to BMF members similar to those available at current BMF events and BMF marshals will be invited to assist Live Promotions in the running of this exciting new show.'
