whoever it is is determined to bugger it up...seems we can run between the hours of 3am to 10am..but then its as if they wake up go on the pooter and target us again. :(

You should be able to track what ISP that IP number is using and complain to them, can't you?

Well on the plus side its all backed up and saved now.
the linux system can be quite vulnerable i'm told...just gotta block them holes up.
worst comes to the worst we'll just start all over again with a fortress style server..its not over yet tho. :)

yea, you can track the IP address (try http://www.arin.net/whois/ ) which tells you who the IP belongs to (ISP), they keep logs of who had which IP when, so they can take action, hopefully.

The IP will have been spoofed - unless the hacker is a total fukwit. Usual MO is to attack a security flaw in someone elses webserver, use that as a base to launch your attack, then spoof the IP address from the already hacked server before attacking your new target.

All attacks are generally available as scripts and any muppet can use em.

Before my pc went tits up last week , it started forgetting where it was , wrong pages shown for web address'.
On a few occasions it would throw up a password box - 100% Biker , please put in your username and password , which I can only think was an access to admin section of the site.
Don't know why it did it , but sometimes it would try to access other people's sites too via the jazz webserver address.

and I had firewall , virus and spyware fitted too?
any ideas?

My knoledge of all these things as you may have guessed is limmited...steptoe is the brains of this op..lol

But Mr Chaz if you have more than one Virus program installed they can conflict and cause all manner of grief.
What spyware you got...i'm running Adaware..AVG ...but had to uninstall spybot because of the above.

yeah our IE started acting up 'again' so gypsy looked in the temp internet folder and found lotsa porn (that's what you get for going to a party and leaving a 14 year old in charge....) so I just cleared it out of the cache and 'puter works fine now


oh and gypsy has locked access to all internet sites which stops the rot but means I had to enter the password 8 times to read my hotmail last night - sheesh

yep my child defo needs that internet connection set up on his own computer, then he'd probably be online looking at porn all the time but at least I'd have some peace and quiet

(actually he's lovely and quiet, and he's never looked at porn since he moved down in June so I blame his new pals, lmao)

Yep....upgraded security....then an upgraded worm from version 10 to version 15....someone knows what they're doin.

yep I did that, but hotmail opens lotsa different 'areas' and they all needed me to do it again, course you won't have that problem now cos I ticked the boxes already...me? am clever enuff to tick boxes n all that :D

people seem to get fun out of it, this forum is the result of a concerted attack on us earlier in the year, it went on for almost a month. During the day we would get the site back and running and every evening they would hack in again despite all our web blokes efforts. In the end we gave up and got this one.
