ok ok I know I said I wasnt gonna do another one and then people reminded me of the promise PaulTheStall got out of me on the Sat nite at this years bash.... and the requests in person, email and phone calls so there will be another one next year........

THE DATE WILL BE 3rd weekend in MAY 16th - 18th

Venue has been confirmed at

The Plough - Address: Ramsey Road, Farcet Fen, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE7 3DR [01733 844307]

I will update this post on this thread only to keep the thread tidy. If people could cross post on other forums, websites would be very grateful.

The format will be slightly different next year in that 80% of profit will goto NABD (to be handed to Rick Hulse at 2009 rally). and 20% will stay in bank account to help fund the following years rally...

I am in need of sponsorship for next years fund raiser, so if your a company or work for a company Please ask !!! all donations will be gratefully received and put to good use

The site is to be confirmed but hopefully will be a lot closer to Peterborough and a lot easier to find.

There may be some limitations on the amount of bands next year if we have to use a marquee. But the pub Owner has planning permission going thru for a purpose built music barn complete with stage n bar for around 500 people - (should be big enough for us)

Rick Hulse will again be the Guest of Honor and to receive the cheques on behalf of N.A.B.D.

Speaking as a punter.....
Why the same bands as last year? Thats coz its easy, LAZY and BORING. And unfortunately, all too common. Theres plenty of bands out there that would give their right arm for a chance to play.
Sorry, but someones gotta say it. Its become the norm. And I for one am pissed off with it.

5 bands are returning possibly - due to popular requests the other 6 will be new. but as the list and the rally is in the very early stages of developement things are likely to change - one thing i learnt last year was that bands for one reason or another do let you down, luckily for me managed to find other bands to fill in.

in fact good quality bands that I know will go down well and that are prepared to play for nothing or just petrol and no sound checks are NOT in very good supply...... I am still looking out for glam, rock n roll bands.

am in talks with 8 bands at the moment who didnt play at this years fundraiser - also this year has been a lack of new young bands as well - the 2 bands who i thought were as good as turmoil & some kinda mushroom have both split as memebers have gone to diff universaties.

as you will see the band list at mo is nearly all to be confirmed - I may have picked up another band from Spat in Hull this weekend - which means I can maybe omit a returning band and reuse in the following years.

so if you can find me good quality bands that will play for the above then do as some other people have done and i can then try n get to see them gigging a few times and approach them

And I for one am sick and tired of people who sit back and carp about the efforts of others. You can do better, put yer money where yer mouth is

Sit back? For the best part of 25 years I have helped source bands, as a club member and as an individual, travelling pretty much all over the uk, to help them, clubs and individuals get a half decent lineup for their events. I have been to just about every decent rally/rock night/rock club/rock pub/recording studio, rehearsal studio, village hall et al there is over the last 30 years and seen much and heard lots. I have helped both amateurs and professionals, musicians, promoters, clubs and landlords.
I have'nt 'carped on' about the efforts of others, just pointed out an obvious problem that many people have talked to me about, knowing how much I like to get involved. I've done my time mate. Im entitled to an opinion. A qualified one. And its not rocket science.

Repetition is boring.

QUESTION....Is it a rally or rock concert

ANSWER...Who gives a **** as long as the beers cold and the women warm,

I do. I like to be entertained. Music is part of it.
If im paying money to whatever cause, to attend an event, I like something differant to entertain me. The idea of Rick Hulse's Comedy Show is great and never having seen it i'm looking forward to the experience. But the same bands? 90% of the time playing the same old songs?
Come on, if you had to bang your missus in the missionary position night after night you'd soon get bored. Or, if you like to do that, she will. Nez pa?

. But the same bands? 90% of the time playing the same old songs?

I think you better get out and do some research.

All the bands that are coming back are gonna be playing mostly diff material than they played this year - but then again I work with the bands (or see them regually) I have/will be booking and see them progress and try new material - Ok so there probally will be soem duplication of material they sang this year. - I am always on teh lookout for good quality new bands as well

If ya worried about bands playing the same material as each other - each band sends me a set list before hand and teh younger/newer bands that dont have enough material get to choose there songs - as i seem to rememeber no one complained last year

and trying to get bands to play without a sound check - is a nitemare ( I had 4 bands pull out on me just because they wouldnt play without a soundcheck)- all the bands at this years event done a quick line check and were straight into there sets -

but if ya wanna generalise - and dont want to see whats hopefully gonna happen then please dont come to the fund raiser go please go somewhere else. Again I am putting my disco rig up as assurity in case of losses - something I hope will not happen - I am nervous enough putting on this event again and I hope that It lives upto the expectations that people expect - Something I dont need is negative comments !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but then again everybody is entitled to there opinion

As someone who organises events for the S'thon, I can honestly say how hard it is to get bands that will play for nowt, or a very small fee.
Yes Griff, we have both in our time, organised lots of rallies, but those bands were always paid. It's easier to get 'named' bands when there is money involved. Creature does the rally for charity, and so do I.
I would book Saxon if they would do the gig for a t'shirt, but I have tried and there's no chance!
I wonder if Metallica would do it?............. :p
Next year we have Termoil and Some Kinda Mushroom at the S'thon, both headlining bands. We have booked these coz we think they are the mutts nuts, and those who have aready booked thier tickets (they aint even printed yet, or dates confirmed!) have said these are the bands they wanna see. Again!
Full Rokcovery will also be back, as they are the band that started the Siobhanathon off with our first rally. They are also back by popular demand.
We have Termoil playing this Saturday at our Siobhanarok gig, and everyone is well looking forward to seeing them. Again!
The Siobhanathon is all up for getting new bands onto the circuit, and nay bands who wanna play for us are welcome, and the fee is a S'thon t-shirt. Not one band has ever said 'no fee, no gig'.
Live music is live music to me, and so long as they get the crowd bopping, I don't see it matters how many times they have played the same gig.
It's very different putting on rallies when you are in a club, but when it's just a bunch of mates, as the Crew are, it's bloody hard work!
But worth every stressful second............ ;)

I may possibly know a band who are really good who might be persuaded to play for petrol money... which of course is cheaper the closer to Leeds/Bradford you are. But I'd have to do a fair bit of grovelling and eyelash fluttering.... Juke - more likely to work for you as at least 2 of them are dad's and big softarses so the cause will make them cry!

has a member of Slappers & Trollops Charity Rally Club, an ex of Shoulder of Mutton MCC and being involved with putting on rallies and rock nites, i know of the work involved. i think its disgusting that some people have to "have a go" at those wanting to put on events for other peoples pleasure and at the same time, raise money for good causes. to get bands to play for "nowt" is a brilliant achievement in itself (would you work for nothing?). so, to the "knockers"...SOD OFF!! to Creature... best wishes for your event (i'll be there working again). to the person who suggested Mettallica... i wish! and just to advertise!! Just got off the phone from Rick Hulse - should have details of the comedians in next few weeks.

there is catering onsite - Were trying to get some differernt food as well as normal rally fare. A full breakfast can be had (You will need to preebook this the night before).

altho the pub/resteraunt is fenced of from the pub you can have proper sit down meals there .

At the moment the band lists is still current and hopefully will remain so, (altho the final order is still to be decided) I have 4 bands on Standby just in case.

Stalls - still looking for stalls

Perhaps a few more cos there's no members rally at BMF i hear this year? Perhaps we'll get a few people who want to do BMF but still get the rally atmosphere and ents? Its not far from the venue up to the showground iirc.

The Stand-Up comedy show at Creatures ‘Any Spare Change’ Rally (16th – 18th May) is the 3rd date of the ‘Smacked Arse’ Comedy Tour 2008.
The tour has 14 dates already confirmed at motorcycle events in the UK featuring more than 20 of Britain’s brightest stand-up comedians.

The show at the Any Spare Change Rally will be compered by 'yours truly' and will feature;

Patrick Monahan:
Patrick started off on the glamorous Irish/Iranian/Geordie stand-up circuit where he developed his chatty & friendly, story telling style.
An original writer and clever improviser skilled in audience interaction, Patrick's versatility, likeability and engaging stage presence has popular appeal, be it, stand-up, comedy character, host, presenter!
"He moves around the stage like a boxer working a ring, covering all angles and staying light on his feet. He is a walking advert for world harmony. Hearts will be broken, socks will be laughed off."
- The Scottish Herald 2005

Patrick Monahan

Dave Longley:
Cutting edge comedy from this mad raconteur is making massive waves on the UK comedy circuit. His thought provoking, yet accessible material and style takes tricky issues to any audience. He also does knob gags!
Dave hails from Derby and his first appearance before an audience of bikers was in Rick Hulse’s ‘Frog & Bucket Comedy Club Roadshow’ at You’ve Been Nabbed 15 in May 2006 where his unique analogous views on life had 2,000 people laughing their tits off within minutes.
"Newcomer Longley has the makings of a uniquely fascinating act."
– Chortle Magazine

Dave Longley

Paul B Edwards:
Paul B Edwards “The Rock & Roll Poet” is one of the most sought after comics on the circuit. His genial combination of jokes, songs, poetry make him a rocking headline act.
Some of his songs have become cult hits with audience members shouting requests, in particular his moving tribute to Hitchin in Hertfordshire, and his ability to get whole audiences to sing along is quite something.
Paul first worked with Rick Hulse in 2001 and he has since topped the bill at a number of Rick’s shows on and off the bike scene including You’ve Been Nabbed 10, Streetfighters at Santa Pod, The Farmyard Party 2003 & 2006.
Last year Paul topped the bill in the ‘Frog & Bucket Comedy Club Roadshow’ at You’ve Been Nabbed 16 and on the Saturday show in the ‘Rick Hulse Comedy Bar’ at the Welsh Motorcycle Show, Builth Wells.
“His act is a treasure chest packed to bursting with little gems" – Deadpan Magazine.
"If talent still plays a part in stardom, Paul B Edwards will be huge” – Jester Magazine.
"A very naughty boy -he deserves a smack on his bottom” – Lorraine Kelly (GMTV).

Its my sad duty to inform you that the COST of teh RALLY PATCHES has risen to £3.50 each. So I am forced from today to rise the patches to £3.50 each. This will at least cover there cost.

All people who have already ordered and paid for theres will get them at the £3.00 and teh rally will absorb the loss.

Also The T-shirts have gone up but still able to make soem money for N.A.B.D on there existing price. :):)

Sorry about this

Sorry not been around much but very busy sorting things out for the rally and plenty of disco bookings :):)

we now have a close up comedian whos offered his services free of charge - he will be walking the site perfoming tricks - so dont forget to stick your spare change in his bucket !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

100% of which will be going to N.A.B.D..

had some luck last week the venue is gonna sponsor the marquee for us - hes hoping to more than cover the costs on profit from beer sales. So please no offsite cans/bottles in the Marquee.

I know money is very tight this year, but if the profits are not there, then its very unlikely that he will sponsor the marquee again. As this is £1000.00 for the hire this would mean that ticket prises would have to rise to cover the cost instead. Something I dont want to do.

We still have loads of tickets for sale :):) and are around 600.00 from breakeven point - I like to goto the site on Thursday at that stage.

We also have a small company whos sponsored the cost of the rally wrist straps £100.00 will add details when I have all the details. I am still on the lookout for sponsors ranging from £50.00 - £650.00. If you know of anyone or company then please give them my details.

sent this email to all local papers :):)

HI.

My name is Stephen Osborn (Creature) And I host fund raisers for N.A.B.D ( http://www.nabd.org.uk/ (The chairman of N.A.B.D Wil be present all weekend)). This years event is to be held at "The Plough, Ramsey Road, Farcet Fen, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE7 3DR [01733 844307] " on the 16th - 18th of may 2008.

As well as the fundraiser around midday on Saturday we are staging a fuel protest speach at the site. This will be done by Paul (from Wozwolf RC) and will hopefully be the start of fuel protests around the country by motorcyclists.

As the fuel prices hinder everyone we are also feeling teh pinch to our lifestyle. A few years ago many of us used to attend 3-4 rallies a month now many are down to one a month or worse. This of course has a knock on effect for every town close by or venue these events are held at.

We would like of course for our local papers to come and cover this event, in the slim hope that it will nudge others into some form of action.

If you would like to send some reporters please contact me on 07957375463 or 10775711874 and I will arrange for details and passes.

Yours Faithfully

will start on others and local radio and tv later this week - so its up to you to come and support !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Creature

Busy week so far 84 tickets sold since Monday (seems as if the weathers changing for the better) We are now already just over £1000.00 in profit (most bills already covered except little items im gonna need) .

BMF eastern region 4 had a doo there last weekend and I managed to get down there on Friday for a look around. Unfortuantly they tret the site and the Landlord like ****e and deffo wont be invited back. They left the site in a real mess, didnt pay there bills (apparently) and realy upset the owner. Also he has expressed a concern about the amount of non bar brought cans/bottles left all over the place.

I have a meeting with him Friday and hope to smooth everything over with him. But can I ask that all non site brought drinks be kept in your tents and not in the Marquee. And tehn put in teh bin liners provided and put into the skips on Sunday morning. Colin has kindly sponsored the Marquee, Stage, Flooring for me but if the bar sales dont add up then next year I will have to find this money elswhere. (As this is over £2000.00 it would very likely be the end of The Any Spare Change Rally, unless a sponsor was found).

We have all brought our own drinks to rallies for many years for drinking after the bar is shut an dsometimes before they open, but over the last few years the problem is getting out of hand. And we are loosing venues quicker than we can find them or clubs that are providing there own bars are loosing money. None of us organisers want to ban offsite drinks, but unless people are more respectful an dresponsible then this will start to happen.

Colin & his staff are going to be walking the site and watching thruout the weekend. And it would be a shame to risk loosing this venue or loose his sponsorship. Especially as he has spent a lot of money on teh site adding pernament Toilets with ramps and lighting and is also planning to hedge in the whole site in the near future. He also has going thru the system planning permission for a purpose built music barn with pernament stage and bar.

We have around 7 stalls covering a wide range of items for you to look around and hopefully purchase items. Please support these stalls as they are all donating 10% of there profit to N.A.B.D (no pitch fee).

I am waiting for confirmation but we may have wall of death onsite as well. I am hjoping to confirm this early next week hopefully.

Just a reminder the road after you leave the stanground/whittlesy road is very bumpy and has several 90 degree bends with adverse cambers and arrive far sooner than you think - please ride carefully.

As you turn onto the pubs carpark you will need to bear left and follow the road down ....

Ride Safe n Free

Put em up mate. They can only be interpreted as obscene (if at all) by a certain mindset. The argument is, as always, "if you see it as filth, maybe you have the problem". It cannot possibly be illegal per se; and the cost of a barrister to prove it would not be worth anyone's while.

Well, I've survived my second rally - the first being Creature's first last year - and let me be the first to say that it was a corker. OK, it was a tad nippy and the weather doubtless kept a few away, but it was a cracking weekend. Reacquainted myself with a few folk I met last year and met some great new people too. It was an honour to play for you folks again and I hope you enjoyed our - the Doughboys', that is - set. I compiled a bit of a video diary this year and once it's sorted, I'll post back here to tell you where I'll be uploading it to. In the sober light of day, my musings are probably only fit to entertain me, but thanks to the people - including Mrs Creature, Rick, Rose from NABD, Robin from General Skullduggery, Stevie etc - who humoured me by doing a talking head thing for me.

Well, that'll do for now. Suffice it to say that I've learnt one important lesson this weekend. And that is that a very pissed man with very cold hands is unlikely to be able to roll a fag with cider drenched papers. Hold that thought.

Peace

Doughbert 8-)#

The other thing to learn is not to be in a tent next to the Doughbert
when he's out his face at 5am while he's trying to roll a fag with
cold hands drenched in cider, he'll get you out of your tent to roll
it for him! ;)

Just had an email from Colin the pub owner.

He wants me to thank everyone who attended the rally, and respected his site and his staff. He has appologised for running out of some beers on saturday nite (this was his first largish rally) and promises it will not happen again next year (sounds like a challange to me). He has also said that he couldnt believe the tidyness of the site all weekend and on Sunady morning was amazed at how little rubbish was on the site.

He also wants to thank eveybody for leaving there cans at there tents and drinking his beer. (Colin has no problem with people bring some of ther own alchohol on site for consumption at there tents. (I second this as my helpers were explaining to people arriving about the above not one person complained. and many were said they understand). But as he sponsored teh Marquee, Stage, Floor & Dancefloor - he was very worried about covering his costs. He has already invited the 3rd AnySpare Change Rally back for next year, with him again Sponsoring the Marquee, Stage, Floor & Dancefloor. (more about this in June after we have our meeting).

Also Colin has said that many of his regulars were in the pub saturday and sunday saying what a great bunch of people we were and cannot understand why are all our parties are being cancelled as they could see all we wanted to do was have some harmless fun. I must admit to watching people struggle to eat there meals they brought in the pub. A few said it was pricey, but those who eat the meals all said it was fantastic value for money.

Right just woke up and now going back to bed. - many thanx to everyone for a great weekend. and I hope everyone got home ok. Ill see ya all there again next year. (or even in afield somewhere real soon).

The welcome drink from Fran in the bar got me well into the mood, although catching up with Minx's intake of alcohol was a very tall order...... :p Thanks Minx for introducing me to 'some very nice peeps' as you described them. You weren't wrong babe.
Great to see Lyn and Al again. We MUST finish our conversation some time. I guess there is still alot to say on both sides eh? I did try to follow you into the marquee to carry on the chat, but got sidetracked by the smiling magician!
I fell arse over tits in love with the Indian trike, but my cash offer of £105.75 for her was turned down............ :( Will save me pennies and wait till Chris is pissed again, and raise it a bit......Thanks for the kiss tho Chris. Can't wait for the next one.

And to you Creature...............after all the stress (and I know as well as anyone how much stress is involved in putting rallies on hun) you once again pulled it off in style. Great venue, brilliant bands, excellent marquee and fantastic company.

Got to agree with what has been said by everyone else.Great weekend and everyone i spoke to said the same.To all the people that saw me performing magic around the rally i hope you enjoyed it and was suitably amazed.I think juke was when she saw my "dick" ( you'll have to ask her about that one ).However i do have a small comment to make about the comedy afternoon. They were all funny and we all had a good time except for the people they kept taking the piss out of.No one likes being called a prison bum boy bitch in front of a group and he was obviously very embarrased. In my opinion you do not have to take the piss out of a paying audience to make them laugh.Hurling insults at people to get a cheap laugh isn't funny for the people on the recieving end.Just my opinion.

Creature

on teh whole the comedians only gave back as good as they got from the hecklers - the 1st one was more oriantated with subjects using the crowd there as part of his act.

In all honesty i didnt hear anything offensive or did we have any complaints from anyone about it. And I would pass along any complaints to teh comedians so that they made sure it didnt happen again. Also teh comedian in question as he stated had never done a bike rally before so it is a learning curve for him, and if any person who was on the recieveng end sends an email of complaint it will be forwarded onto the comedian in person.

The comedy club will be back next year, but i have a very hard choice to make as everyone wants to see the same comedians again, so I am gonna have to let 1 or 2 of them down. I also have the same problem with the bands they all want to come back, but I have 3-4 new ones to fit in - So I have some difficult decitions to make over winter.

Spell binder hopefully you will be back next year, hopefully we can get you onsite about an hour earlier so we can find a slot for you. Maybe a small marquee with teh stalls or just roaming about the marquee and pub.

So far I have recieved 4 complaints.

1. from a day visitor who was most upset because he could not get his bike or access to the camping area !!! all he wanted was for his bike to be judged for trophy - he was told to go home bring a tent and pay the extra - he went of in a huff.

2. a few people complained about only having one food stall onsite !!! shame they didnt read the letter inside every welcome envelope which would have advised them that they could have meals in the pub.

3. was about the price of the beer a couple of people thought it was expensive !! even after we explained that Colin was sponsoring the marquee, stage, floor & dance floor. Everyone else said the prices were either reasonable or cheep (no pleaseing everybody).

4. the last compalint was about the price of the meals in the pub - and no they didnt even bother to order.... I knoe for a fact that Colins prices are fair for what you get on your plate in fact I would go as far to say that in fact its excellent value for money. I wathed people on Thurs nite struggle to eat eveything that was put on there plate, and that they will be back again for more food from the pub.

I think everyone will agree the security we (this includes Colin who exeeded my requests in most areas) worked very well. Even to the respect every one gave my team Mrs Creature and my kids on teh gate when explaining that we & Colin dont mind you drinking your cans buy your tent, but when you enter the show area please buy from the bar. Many thanks to everyone for this. You have given Colin a belief that hje is on the right track (after several showss which have been total disasters ( not his fault but the organisers)).

Kylie
20-05-2008, 06:22 PM
Creature - on the meal front - it was difficult for me as a veggie... the food wagon did what they could but it was cheese butty time for me, and I couldnt afford to have every meal in the pub.

I agree the food prices reflect what you get, and it was good value for money, but if you don't want/need a big meal it is a lot.

Perhaps you could suggest to Colin that he could organise something to do something like jacket spuds at a lower cost, but less food? Like kid sized meals etc.

Creature
20-05-2008, 06:25 PM
Kylie drop taht in email form for me and i wil pass it along when i next meet Colin - I will also ask if he can advis ethe food stall to be more veggie friendly

I will do, and if he wants to chat to me about it more than happy to be veggie advisor!

Don't get me wrong - they bent over backwards to accommodate me, but obviously when they're busy its not so easy. I even got a scrambled egg and cheese butty on Sunday morning which was just the job.

4. the last compalint was about the price of the meals in the pub - and no they didnt even bother to order.... I know for a fact that Colins prices are fair for what you get on your plate .

Comedians thrive on Hecklers, it's all part of the job. Go to the Farmyard and check out the what they do to Chicken George....... :D

Ever since Rick began doing the comedy club at the NABD Rally and elsewhere, Heckling has been an integrated and welcome part of the act. Comedians have been known to ask for the first slot so they can have fun with the hecklers and more power to them for it, it gets the audience involved and makes for a damn good atmosphere. At the last farmyard in the valley (the year of the flood) there was a comedian from Canada called Glenn Wool. He was so good we called him back for TWO encores and then booed him off.

The security was typical wozwolf, all double checked.
bike/rider belonging to each other. After hearing about the previous weekends theft issues, knowing the security at farcet made me quite feel relaxed
How much was a pint of beer?
£2.50
both beer + lager where £2.50, along with 4-5 real ales on the bar, with a £1 deposit on resonably tough plastic glasses, Old rosey cider, and in fact the other ciders where where £2.75 but at 6% -8% a bargain, only heard of 1 minor bar issue, and that was because there wasn`t any bacardi, but once this was pointed out to the staff it was fixed asap.
Stick with me boy i'll take you to all the best dives where its around £2 a pint
down the road from here beer-£1.56, Lager-£1.61

As for the catering, I never heard any complaints, myself I can`t complain, £2-£3 for a burger/hotdog/bacon roll(s), £3 for a hot roast pork/stuffing/apple bun, and breakfast rolls at around £4. ALL well cooked. Tea 60p coffee 70p all of these prices are IMO cheaper than the average rally. then there was the pub resturant menu to explore, not to mention the pre-order pub breakfast at £5.50 a go :D

Finally I`d like to add my thanks to creature (and everyone else) for such a great weekend

well i had loads of fun no complaints from me appart from i had to leave the bike at home this year but i allso think that brit chops trike should not have had any votes because it came in a van .but still a very nice bit of kit just a shame he did not ride it to the event

Get real mate. The trike came in the van for two good reasons, one being that it's awaiting SVA approval. The other reason should have been blatantly obvious even to you. We had a stall at the show. It would have been pretty difficult getting all that lot on a trike and doing a 200 mile round-trip.
As for winning Best Trike, well, for your information, it wasn't entered in the show. I was one of the judges, and while we were walking around the field, I told the others not to include it. You can check this with Blue (BSH). I wasn't even at the prizegiving, someone had to find me.
When I brought up this fact it'd won, the reply was "Bo**ocks, it was the best trike there, period".
Condom, I'd bet my last £ I've ridden more miles on bikes and trikes already than you'll ever do in your lifetime. Keyboard heroes really get up my back. As you were obviously there, why didn't you have the bottle to come and tell me personally that I shouldn't have won, and saved me having to write this reply? And I'm certainly no trophy hunter, I've also probably binned more trophies than you'll ever get, unless they give one for stupid posts.

Flipping heck! Sorry, but I think that might be a touch of an overreaction.

You're right, but I specifically asked that it not be judged, and maybe I blew my top at Capt. Conds comments, so I apologise. Having said that, there was an info sheet stating it was awaiting SVA. It would have been easy to park down the road, unload it and ride it in, a lot of people do, but I don't.
What people don't realise is the effort that goes into building something like that. Every part was made in a small workshop at the side of my house. 5 months, every hour God sent (including several 18-20 hour days), and I went over the overdraft! So sometimes, innocent comments bite a bit deep.
If you want to check out the "build" click this http://www.britchopper.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6247
If you want to see the finished trike, go to page 15.

and I went over the overdraft!

Fully appreciate the amount of work which must go into something like that, but if there's an award for having a bike which keeps you going over your overdraft I will fight you for it - my bike isn't pretty, and she's definitely not a custom, but I struggle to keep her on the road and regularly spend money I dont have and have to go cap in hand to my grandpa for yet another loan... (I would ask the bank but they'd tell me to fuck off!)

And I might not do 100's of 1000's of miles every year on her, but i'm on her every work day even on days like today when I really felt like pulling a sicky because my leg is killing me from hitting the road with it yesterday and its absolutely pissing it down with rain.

Cheers Capt. I'll get you a beer at the next show. I already admitted I blew a fuse and apologised. Hope you're not MOT-ing my car (tomorrow). As a matter of interest, the trike goes for its SVA test on July 7th. I'm taking it exactly as it is.

Chris ireland has earned the right to do just what the fuck he likes.
Not least of all by pioneering many of the styles that we all unbeknowingly copy today, me included, and certainly every trike rider in the country. You'd all be on VW engined phoenix styled monstrosities, tucked away in the dark alleyway leading to the bogs at car shows if it wasn't for boundary breaking and trend ignoring folks like this defying the trophy pulling fashion of the year and building wild and crazy things that just hadn't been imagined, let alone seen, before.
To come back at somebody who everybody who was in this scene 25 years ago, and is still in it, with retorts like "I ride my bike come rain or shine..." or "I do blah blah blah many miles a year..." usually meaning "I aint passed my car test/can't afford a car" is slightly embarrasing and vary unknowledgable of the scene that he and his oppos helped create for us.
If the guy didn't want his machine judged, but the judges saw fit to overrule his request, and you dont like it, tell the judges, tell Chris, then wander off and gawp at the harleys with £3000 frames and £2000 pound paint jobs, and get a grip.

Thanks for the kind words lads (and lasses). We think this is the FIRST Indian EVER triked in the UK (correct me if I'm wrong). Taff, even though we've yet to meet, it's good to meet people like yourself and Blue who do "real speak" like wot I do, and I look forwards to meeting up sometime.
I wore out a brand new pair of slippers welding this one up. For those not conversant with the trike that's caused a few raised eyebrows, click this link.
