OK OK so my secret's out! at the last count.....
2 Lambrettas, 10 vespas, including an unraked foot overlength forked chop, that used to wheelie like a b-stard (until I stacked it into a capri after dumping the girlie off the back during a ferkoff wheelie (whoops!!)and NO having the engine on the right didn't affect the handling...the cheap teflon tyres that were the only thing available did!

What's wrong with a BSA Dandy? My first "bike" was a Honda PC50! Then a Honda C90!
Never had a scooter though!

My first a Casal 50 for the beach
ohhhh
that is soooooooo cool
I love those old mod things with all the pretty shiny stuff n lights n mirrors
always was mixed up...mod...or rocker....or biker....or punk etc etc
anyway I had a strange bf at school who used to go everywhere on his Honda Express step through, with pedals
wasn't so bad eh? everyone else had to walk places
cept it was his sister's scooter so it had a shopping basket
and he wore his dad's old half face helmet with rubber lining thing for yer neck
so
that was too much for me, being a fashion conscious teen, he had to go, he had no street cred
but he also used to wear an afghan coat and clogs
fine in the 60s maybe
but a bit naff in the 80s
d'oh

OK I owned a lambretta/vespa hybrid chop for a while, it was feckin' lethal.
Not because it was a scooter, but because it had been build by an idiot and welded using a soldering iron. I was glad when I sold it. I also used to ride about on stepthroughs and loved it. :D

I've never had (or even ridden) a scooter or moped. My first bike was a pretty mean Suzuki 100.
BUT...........I have to admit that when I was about 12 or 13 I used to drool over the Puch mopeds in my mum's Kay's Catalogue and try and figure out how I could afford the payments and, of course, the Tomos mopeds that they used to sell in Woolworths. Hell I couldn't wait to be 16 so that I could have one of them babies.
When I reached 16 I got a job in a dog food factory for the summer (10 weeks here in N. Ireland) and saved up £100 to buy the Suzuki on 9th September 1975.
Then I rode it (illegaly) on a moped licence until my 17th Birthday in November when I could get a proper Provisional Licence.
I worked my way from a TOMOS my nan bought from Woolworths, onto a Honda Camino before I acclaimed real status by way of a canary yellow Honda Melody, which I used to ride wearing my brothers Scrambling helmet and Scott goggles.
Then I got my brothers old GP100 because he'd bought an RD350 YPVS before finally getting that classic of all bikes..........The 2.3 V6 Cortina....damn that thing was faster in reverse than anything I've ever driven/ridden.

Second bike I ever got was a GP100. A right nippy little bugger until "my mate" killed it (and nearly me) with a black Marina van.
Still picking tarmac from me knee cap after all these years !!

my first bike was a bantam(playing down the fields and woods), but the first bike I was legally on the road with was a Frances Barnett, and yes to my shame I have ridden both lambretta's and vespa's

The only 'scooter' I have ridden was only a few years ago on an island in the Caribbean called San Andreas. The only person in the group that had a bike license, I got on, started it (facing a wall), revved it, rode straight into the wall.
Yes.

Had two Lambretta Li 150's before I saw the light and upgraded to an Ariel Huntmaster 650cc Twin combo. Duribg my poverty stricken apprenticeship I also ran a Honda C50, a Suzuki 80 and a CZ 125 (Yellow) amongst many other peices of mobile scrap. Many had no brakes, some only had three gears or less and the exhausts had a habit of falling off at inopportune moments

This forum is full of Cool Doodz!
The bikes! The Clothes! I don't think I can handle it!
My dad bought me a Vespa 90 cheap for my 16th birthday. (Yes that long ago.)
Rode it to work untill I could afford to trade it for a BSA C15. (250cc single for any youngsters.)
Ahhh, the C15......*nostalgic trance*
