View Full Version : Motorsickle.com - feedback?
Slob and meself have been working hard at getting it running, now we have a few pages up we could do with some feedback, we dont really have the resources to keep up stuff that isnt going to be read/watched.
While we are enjoying doing it we need some feedback and would appreciate it if you could tell us a) what you like, b) what you would like, c) what we should leave out.
Remember we are total amateurs at this and are doing it completely on the fly!
is it any good?
Are we wasting our time?
So far we have had a few emails and a couple of (insane) clips sent in, I expected more by now considering the number of hits the site and the videos have had, we could do with a few more events for the good causes page as well.look here (http://www.motorsickle.com)
have you tried moving the microphone away from the speakers
i would say keep on the path you are heading a mixture of funny clips and seriour ones
Ta mate, I wouldnt do any more outtakes of you now. ;)
Ta mate, I wouldnt do any more outtakes of you now. ;)
I replied from my mobile earlier, so it was brief
But I think you are on the right track
Funny clips will circle the internet faster than serious ones, so keep them coming, as its free advertising
for shorter clips are better than longer ones, where someone can sit for ages with a magazine of book, the same is not true of a pc screen, reading large amounts from a pc is hard, and people get bored easily on a pc.
what about a mini serious a weekly or fortnightly or monthly mixture of funny and serious stuff. (i would think that between 5 and 10 mins would suffice) (bikerenders or bikernation street or even bikerdale) to keep people coming back
also be picky when people send stuff in, so you can guide the style of the content to your plans.

Yoda
sage advice. Thanks yoda.
I think you guys are doing just dandy........ ;)
But ya do remind me of the Rogue traders guys.............. :p
Funniest thing on there I have seen is the 'denim cut-off' project.
Funny as fukk, and how you did that with a serious tone Pyro, I will never know.
Keep up the good work guys................. :D

Looks ok to me, I like the menu being the same on each page but as you change pages you should leave the page you are on out of the link, after all you dont need to link to the page you are already on...http://www.tvworkshop.freeuk.com This site cost nothing to set up and as you can see from the last update it just sits there now as I have finished with it..but you can see what I mean about the menu...John

Fuck off, no review now....

It's crap.
Only cos I'm not on it mind, it will improve greatly once I'm on it. :D

Thanks all, for your feed back, it is hard when you are plugging awaya and only get a few emails, getting loads of hits but its nice when people say '"Top geezers yah!" :D
So do we add naked women? Cos I think Lyn has offered herself...............

Not bad at all, easy to navigate, relevant content, no annoying adverts, loads easily.... Just need bbrand for me to enjoy vid clips..
No naked women needed, but I wouldn't complain if they turned up now and again :D

If you was a top model and Slob and me turned up to take nakid photos would you take your clothes off?
Thought not.

I love the video stuff! Yoda's interview was smashing, love the mishmash stuff too. Even spotted me in there! Photos are great and can capture a moment but video offers something completely different. Keep it up! I'm off for a rummage around at the rest of the stuff. Just one thing on the vids - would be nice to see which events are covered and where the footage has been taken if possible. As the archive grows, maybe categorise into interviews, events, bikes etc?
Trying my hand at making a few posters, heres the first one, please be honest about them... more later.

It doesn't say a lot about your site Pyro. I take it as a poster will be advertising what you do so it should say more about it in a pic. That just says to me this is about sports bikes or you want to sell me a tyre. Maybe a pic of someone/people messing about and your site address on it would be more apt
Hmmmmm ... all it really does is make me think "what it's the back end of" rather than "I wonder what Motorsickle.com is?" ....
"Motorsickle will reflect how we, and hopefully you, see the biking world"
am not quoting you as such, just maybe inspire idea's based on yer concept....
(My biking world isnt sportbike tyres) :p
show us more, Im in a critical mood hehehehehehehehe
J
OK points taken, remember I aint ever done this before so...
You wont like this one then but I'm going to use it cos I like the bike! (Jus1 will recognise it)
I was going to do a series of different ones, I'll keep posting until we find something you might like.
see I reckon that's a bit better ... aye that be our Andy's that :) ..and that's GREAT picture of it fella ... he'll be chuffed with that.
its a tough one aint it .. am sitting here thinking of a picture that would suit and the only thing I was thinking was like ...
How about a picture of Boxhill (or Bury) but taken from the Hill so you get ALL the bikes in a shot .. not ness in detail just a massive gathering of loads of different bikes ... or for that matter ..same at a rally site ...
A shot of a bike or bikes riding a twisty .. like the deceptives or something up that hill to Bury ?? ... dunno mate just idea's .. I have quiet a creative imagination .. just sh1t with cameras, paint brushes, spray cans, pens and pencils ... but I do think a good picture :D
This more like it?
YES ... ;) IMO

I have so many pics - 1000's... its getting the time to go through them and find the good ones, I am not in Yodas class when it comes to taking pics, but I hope I'm learning.
Will have a sort through and see what I can find.

the one with the trike at a rally and people walking about and the other one you've just posted are fine and the triumph because there is a tent next to it and it is a sweet bike are better
I think we also want to appeal to all bikers, not just the stuff we like, we are doing a bit on racey type bikes soon, trouble is everytime I try to talk to them at boxhill I get asked if I'm old bill (those of you that have met me will be pissing themselves just about now...) so getting them to talk is a bit weird, you'd have thought after spending all that money on getting the bike to match the leathers they would want to boast.... odd.
Even going to do a bit on .....say it say it......scooters.
Not proper scooters, those things for commuting. A lot of them out there.

Did you notice the front brakes? take a close look... fucking something else man.
Maybe this...
I like that n'all ... but then it's MY cuppa :D ...
Last one for now while I search just cos I like the pic.
*edit... remember these are resized and the orignals look a lot better/clearer.

Just had a good look at this site and it's great. The only wee comment I would make is the print is a bit small and I found it a bit hard to read on the longer texts, but otherwise great.
Cherry, thankls for thefeedback. How about where the text is broken up with images? Do yu think it makes it easier to read?
You can increase the text size on your screen - click view / text size (or zoom if you use a proper web browser) Thanks for the feedback we shall look at that.

yeah text is much easier when broken with images but too much text - white on black - and ya start going giddy. Just a small thing, but keep up the great work it's fab - just add add an exclusive forum for registered peeps only and we can have a party LOL ;)
Waiting for Pyro next installment of the 'how to be a biker' series. fantastic - your both mad :D :D ;)
