Good News

[Freak]

As some of you know, one of our club members suffered some serious injuries
a couple of weeks back including breaking his back and his neck in two
places. Well the good news is (and it doesn't get much better than this) He
should be out of hospital by Christmas, possibly even this week. The medics
are fitting him up with a back and neck brace to limit his movements and
then its a matter of getting him upright and stable. I would imagine it will
take a couple of days to get used to being upright after 2 1/2 weeks lead
flat on his back. As long as he takes it easy he's on course for a full
recovery. :D

Great news, Freak. As long as he takes things nice and easy he will be ok. I pushed myself too hard too soon when I got out of hospital and did myself more harm than good during the first few months. I had to learn to pace myself and do things gradually instead. Your mate has a long way to go yet and with the help and support of his friends and family he will find the inner strength to overcome his injuries.
