Found this out in a book I'm working on - "The English soap-making company, Lever Brothers, first coined the term B.O. for “bad odour” as part of their marketing campaign for the soap."
basically, another con trick to make folk buy crap. Same thing they've been doing ever since. :mad:
Even better is this...
The first self-propelled car was built by Nicolas Cugnot in 1769. two years later, he invented the road accident when he drove into a wall.
Cugnots steam vehicle was actually a trike.....

but he couldn't drive it because they didn't build roads for another 100 years...pretty amazing really I imagine he said something like " hey look I've invented the trike" " oh great how fast does it go" "well if I can find a flat enough road I can get two miles an hour on it but I have to have someone walk beside me with a barrow of coal"..."well How much does it cost " "1 pound"..."what I can get three horses for that and they can run on any ground at 20mph"....no wonder it took so long to get to Henry Ford... :D John
