cant beleive it, I hate banks so much, we got ourselves in a nice position today to send a big payment to our mortgage company

so I go online and try to pay that way, it says no, cant transfer more than £1000 per day online

please ring customer services, so ring them spend 17 minutes on hold, halfway through the info and the fukkin indian thick **** wanker cuts me off

ring back, on hold again, then told that as I dont have a telephone banking code I cant pay any bills online!!!

AARRGGHHH

I have had engouh, I got thousands of pounds in my account that the mortgage company want from me and I want to give them, but I cant give it to them, what a fuckin joke

fookin bitchon the phone tells me to tranfer it each day, at that rate with my max transfer rate it will take about 27 days and will have racked up anohter months worth of interest,

first job tomoro is to go and close every account bar the one Im taking them to court for charges on, and go find a bank that has english speaking people n this country that actually understand me and do as I want!!!

Most banks are the same now...I use internet banking for savings and have two separate branch accounts in Suffolk and Cornwall..can transfer as much or as little as I like between the accounts in seconds, can pay directly into someone else's account if I have the account number..does what it says on the can...with the two accounts I can draw £400 cash on the cards each day...no bank charges... :) John

appears halifax are UK based??

and HSBC as well, so wll be looking into them

and halifax do an account where you get rewards for paying in more than a certain amount each month??

still got lots to research but all I know is that within a month or so everything debt wise with barclays except one account, will be sorted and then wages, everything for wife and I, including business accounts will be moved elsewhere

got one account well overdrawn with them, but also trying to claw back £3670 of bank charges, so willing to meet them somewhere in the middle and they just close the overdrawn account and call it quits :)

Embarassed as I am to say it, I used to work for the Woolwich when it was a building society. In them days yes it worked. When it wanted to become a bank because some greedy jock became chairman it all went tits up. Funnily enough although he was promised a high rank in the takeover he disappeared from view and was last heard of in Canada!!! I'll bet they paid him off well.

Best thing that ever happened to me was being made redundant just before the takeover happened even if we all knew it was about to happen cause the secret was out inside the organisation.

I'm with them, never had a problem with them and they are merged with the Bank Of Scotland so you get to speak to someone on the phone you have a chance of understanding. :D

HSBC are deffo not UK based - you can only speak to English if you go into branch - they are the worst offenders and were the first bank to set up telephones in asia. we moved after getting so frustrated with them - now with lloyds.

But hey Tony if you looking for somewhere to dump your dough, I dont have a limites on the cash going into my account buddy - I'd be quite happy to accept as many thousands as you care to send my way :D :D :D

I was getting charges on top of charges and charges for those charges from Nat west...I stopped all direct debits, closed all my business accounts, opened a personal account with TSB stopped taking cheques made out to my business account and had them all made to my personal account...paid ALL my bills with my personal account so no more bank charges and only used Nat west to pay off my mortgage which I paid in cash..put lump sums in when I could afford it and paid it off quickly..Oh and I cancelled Sky TV, Mobile phone contracts, broadband and any other non essentials until I could really afford them... Might not work for everyone but it worked for me... :D John

dont have any probs with bank charges myself. ive never ever had one, ive paid off the mortgage, and havent got a credit card. never go overdrawn and they cant get a feckin penny off you!!!!

Alliance and Leicester are equally crap!!!
One month my salary was paid in 2 days late and I ended up with more than £50 of bank charges over a couple of quid overdrawn.
I wrote to them and said my money would be safer under my bed than with thieves like them.
Also as we have a current account whats with the can't withdraw our own money sh*t??? I have to make an appoitment to withdraw a large sum of money - WTF!
We are changing banks but is there a good one - can't find one to date.

TSB seems ok...I dont have a problem with large sums..also if you open one account at a branch near you and another at a branch where you have another address (parents town, or staying with a friend, or somewhere you rent) you get two debit cards and can draw £400 per day...but I don't owe anything, or have direct debits or credit cards...and I am going to win the lottery tomorrow...I've found out why I haven't won yet...It seems you have to pay for a ticket when you choose the numbers.... ;) John
