Dimebag was doing what he loved, entertaining the fans. It was the only thing he ever wanted to do. He was a brilliant and often innovative guitar player and songwriter who always strove to push the boundaries of Heavy Metal and wasn't afraid to mix stomping riffs with subtle ethereal melodies on some of Panteras later material. Damageplan, formed after the breakup of Pantera in 2003, were tipped for stardom by many American rock music journalists and critics. They were well on the way to acheiving this when this tragic incident occured.
