We went, missed most of the weather on the way. Got set up then went for a wonder. Got talked into putting my norton in the show. Didn't win owt but nice that other people like it too. Saw Blue Nik and Stevie. Went into Scarborough on the Saturday (Rode outr lasses Bandit with her on pillion. Got soaked throgh on the way back. If anyone has spare ime there's a classic car and bike workshop/museum in Thornton Le Dale which is worth seeing. Saw Hotrod 55. Very very impressed (We got to have a bit oof a jive, and mate a couple of the English Lads off the Jockey Journal messageboard. Then rode back via Squires where we stopped for a lunch and ran into the lad who owns the Zombie. All in all a cracking weekend.
Got to ask though what happened after the Jalepenos set? Did Rick get offstage and drop someone in the audience?

Probably not this year. I think it clashes with summat. If your going to get jive lessons go for rock and roll or swing jive rather than modern jive or Ceroc. Modern jive and Ceroc dont really teach the footwork. ;)

That was such a GOOD weekend. Had such a great party both nights. Had a really good gig Saturday. Loads of folk bought CDs. Sorry I didn't get to see you an' Al Lyn. Thoroughly enjoyed my time round the Jinxters fire after my gig, I was somewhat bolloxed but it was fun. I then moved on to another fire an' sat for a little while with a bunch of folks from Ireland playin' a few songs an' drinkin' poteen before finishin' up at the Nighthawk leather stall for a few hours. Bumped into a fair few from here an' Netbiker. All in all a bloody good weekend !!! :D
PS. No photos but bloody good memories. If there are any photos where the owner of said photos proports that they are of me, then they maybe. I just claim diminished responsibility :)

Only real downer for us for the weekend was hearing some up his own arse marshall have a right pop at the lass serving food in the MAG restaurant (;) )
Having already overheard him say to his partner (who was also marshalling) that there was another hour left for them on shift, they queued for about 20 mins to find that the breakfast, rather than the dinner menu was still being served. He right kicked up! Threatened to 'report them to the tent', said he was 'disgusted' and 'what about people queuing for dinner?' ... we were quite chuffed as we actually wanted a breakfast!
Poor lass didnt know what to say or do - just took it on the chin til the guy stormed off. There was just no need for it. Talk about give someone a reflective waistcoat and they think they're important  . Wish I'd stopped him to take his name. Knobber.

Hotrod 55 very good. Lots of rockabilly covers entertaining
Jalepenos very good from the little we heard
Jed Thomas. Technically good but IMO not very good at engaging with the crowd.
Stevie first time i saw him enjoyed it immensley.
saw some of the main stage bands on Friday but couldn't tell you who they were.
If your after the rockabilly type band also have a look at Cathouse Creepers. Do a load of original stuff and or very very good showmen.

Ditto! I was drunk all weekend, and my legs still hurt from the walk down into the valley and back up the other side that I did in my bike boots to show Andy where the old rally was (he was a farmyard virgin!).
Creature if you're reading this I gave Rick a big kiss from you and he said he was glad it was me that kissed him and not you!!! Big pussy!
Had a bloody brilliant time, took too much food with me as usual so ended up cooking it all up on a bbq and feeding it to some lads from Belper I met a couple of years back and missed last year cos Huw made me eat brownies!
Twas a little moist on Saturday afternoon, but I was prepared, poncho, waterproof trousers, goretex lined bike boots and an umbrella hat! And its all my fault it rained cos the sun came out and I put the suncream in the bag we took out for the walk with us!
Anyone booked the time off work for next years yet? :D

No Rick did not drop someone in the audience, he was a bit upset when someone threw a beer can at him but we would not let him out the gate, I went and spoke to the offending chap myself and calmed it down.
It may have been that there was no second encore from the Jalapenos but that was down to me and not Rick.
Regarding the grumpy marshal in the farmyard cafe, unfortunatly thats people isnt it, not a lot can be done if you dont know who it was though ? do the same standards also apply to the party goers, be nice if they did but I know I had to deal with a lot worse myself
Anyway thanks for every one who attended the FYP 21st, what a great weekend despite the weather and what a cracking 2 nights in the 100% tent

Teehee, I just used my camera to take a picture of something, and downloaded the weekends takings.... I remembered taking 3 photos.... there were 22! Several of which are just of blackness.... 2 of my arse courtesy of Andy who got hold of my camera, 3 I remember taking... the rest... NO FECKING CLUE!!!!! They're all of people i know, but I really don't remember taking any of them!
I believe this type of experience indicates it was a rather good weekend!

Regarding the grumpy marshal in the farmyard cafe, unfortunatly thats people isnt it,
Not good enough, chap. People have paid to get into the Farmyard, they are customers and marshals are there to police and run the events and be 'customer-facing' (and no-one, as far as I know, forces them to volunteer). If this had been a member of a patch club working at one of their big events, then people would have been up in arms about his grumpiness and attitude.
And what the hell was he doing going for his meal break if he was on shift? Was he checking the quality of the catering or the comfiness of the cafe's seating?
do the same standards also apply to the party goers, be nice if they did but I know I had to deal with a lot worse myself
Again, like it or not, those people who've paid to get in are customers. Get jumped-up little oiks in fluorescent jackets throwing their weight about and those customers take their money somewhere else next year.

One minor flaw in that statement - ALL marshalls pay for a ticket as well as volunteering to work.
And as for why he was taking a meal break - maybe he had checked with control that he could?
MAYBE he was a diabetic and was ready for a meal - diabetics get incredibly grumpy and can be aggressive and offensive when their blood sugar drops.
Lets not criticise too much, Maggie B is getting the info, if it needs a word I am sure it will be had, or maybe there was a good reason for it.
Without the marshalls, grumpy or not, paying for their tickets the ticket price would be much higher to cover costs.

Sure - and I have no doubt that 99% of the marshalls are good, hard working souls doing their bit for the cause. It's just a shame that there's the odd one or 2 that spoil the good reputation of others.

Just as well I'd had my breakfast an' medication then, wasn't it.

Surely you never get grumpy Stevie :)
It is quite common tho when the blood sugar drops too far, and of course not with everyone.

antsy.... is that when you grow extra legs and run around in search of sugar? Oh aye... well without the extra legs :D
its the nature of the game, but then you have no choice, smokers get right arsey when they want a fag... and thats self inflicted!
Well i ain't diabeeatical, but i'm one proper grumpy fucker if i'm hungry and there ain't no snap about.

Not intending this to degenerate into a slanging match but if you must quote me please quote the full sentence
"Regarding the grumpy marshal in the farmyard cafe, unfortunatly thats people isnt it, not a lot can be done if you dont know who it was though ?"
meaning give us a clue who it was and we will have a word with him, Shelly and the girls from the farmyard cafe happen to be friends of mine and I would not be happy with anyone abusing them, but without details or even a complaint from the girls themselves its pretty hard to do much as I said
And I'm sorry but buying a ticket does not give any one the right to abuse me or any other marshal, as said elsewhere I paid for my ticket too.
Just to clarify about marshals being on duty and taking breaks, some marshals particularly area managers are on duty from Friday morning till Sunday and eat/sleep when they can.
Step forward and join the crew HiViz, we always need fresh people as others get burned out and grumpy
Not much point in getting Maggie B to deal with this, I will speak to Pete W. myself

If this had been a member of a patch club working at one of their big events, then people would have been up in arms about his grumpiness and attitude.
Similarly, had this been a member of a back patch club, at the Farmyard, recognisable as such, by a belt buckle or tattoo, in the absence of any patches, not as unusual as people may think, then there'd have been similar rants on here to the tune of who the hell do these people think they are, the signs are clear enough, why should they expect special treatment...

Yep
I have already told Pete W (main organisor for his sins) about this & will send details or see him soon.
I think he is catching up on a bit of missed sleep! :o
please don't jump on the band wagon HiViz-I have been pm'd by the people who it happened to, it is being dealt with
and Keith & I both agree that wearing a Flourescent Jacket doesn't give anyone the right to rip a strip off anyone.
If anyone else has had any problems with Marshalls at Farmyard let me know & I will pass onto Pete.
I especially took notice of Stevie & Minxy as they are not the type to make up or embellish a story

I saw Minxy just after the caff incident - both she and Jester were gobsmacked by it. However, on the other hand, I'd like to say that the marshalls I dealt with on the gate were brilliant - especially the lad in the bush hat whose name unfortunately I don't know, but who was a real star.
The real star of the Farmyard was Pete Walker's new hair, though.
