Righto folks , stand by your beds and pay attention. I had a little idea on here a while ago and it seems to have snowballed a little.
Please take a look at the new website www.cossackrun.co.uk
It's being put together by our very own Wegit - who's done a fantastic job in such a short space of time.
The aim of this site is to purely raise funds for the Joannas' Wish Charity and have a whole lot of fun whilst doing it!
You can show your support by :
1)simply signing the guestbook and putting links onto your website / other forums.
2)buying run t shirts ( due online just after Crimbo)
3)or getting involved in a little corporate sponsorship.
the choice is yours , and we appreciate ( and need) that help at all levels!
the site will be constantly updated with news etc... so there's always something going on.
Again , regardless of anyviews that people may have of me.... I do ask that you take the time to sign the guestbook and show some support -It's all for a very good cause , as you'll see.
Thanks to everyone involved!! :)
Very disappointed at distinct lack of Cossack motorcycles being ridden by the participants!

Is looking very good mate, just signed your guest book.
Are you going to be running a sponser form type thing, I'm sure folk on here would pledge a little dosh for you?
mr.chaz
09-12-2004, 03:51 PM
Yep...pay attention now...
you can donate by buying a t shirt ( due on the site in Jan)
or £65 corporate sponsor. All this is on the "Support us" bit along with a form.
If you would just like to donate to Joanna's Wish anyway... then click on " Joanna's Wish" and there's details there.
I just thought it nicer that people get a T shirt for a £9.99 ( plus P&P)donation.
You can also buy those fab set of British bike prints for £30 plus P&P , if you click on Joanna's Wish latest press release. It shows the full set in some detail.
So there's a budget for every pocket.... should they be inclined to help.
If you're skint , and on your ass - you can still help by signing the guestbook and putting a link from your website/club website.
All help is appreciated , at any level.
Thank you
wegit

I'd just like to add that I was supplied a copy of the prints & for £30.00 they are WORTH EVERY PENNY... Quality of the prints is great and Joanna was a brillient artist.
So come on everybody...and buy a set !!

13-12-2004, 05:30 PM
Yep - details on their website. Twas cancelled , but I think that the Halloween Bash was such a good do , they changed their minds.
You also got the G Mex show on too , just down the road.
I was a little bemused by the posting in your guestbook from Eddie Kidd that didn't mention the run or support but was just an ad for his new DVD - or have I missed something?

I was a little bemused by the posting in your guestbook from Eddie Kidd that didn't mention the run or support but was just an ad for his new DVD - or have I missed something?
I been e mailing and linking to sites every day , trying to get traffic through the site.
So I mails any celeb I can and says , we're doing , this , this and this, it's all for a good cause , please drop by sign the guestbook , say hello and forward this e mail onto friends and colleagues within your industry.
With Eddie , I adds PS - where the hell can I get a copy of Riding High - seen a few on US Ebay and that's it!
Thus his reply and blatant advertisement!
But............ at least he signed it. I take it you signed under an "alias" then blue?
Go on... tell me you're really the "Glitterband" ;)
By the way - if anyone has a copy of Riding high , I'd appreciate a PM!

Received my T-Shirt today, thanks for that mr chaz. All I can say is if everyone had a couple of packets of fags or a few pints less this week and bought a T-Shirt instead, they'd feel alot better about themselves.

Got my t-shirt safe and sound, although was a little confused that an adventure called the Cossack Run was being undertaken by two Hondas, a Kwak and a Hinckley Triumph and was advertised with a picture of an old Bonnie, till I realised it was one of Joanna's pictures!
I'll get me coat...

well , you already know the story behind the cossack malarky! Although the name's got us some great coverage throughout the Ukraine and Russia.
and we thought and thought about a t shirt logo. Then thought it was fitting to use one of Joanna's original print artwork.Makes sense.
What we'll probably do is come up with another run next year for Joanna and then have another load of shirts done to raise funds for that too. The plan is that there should be enough funds then to do what was intended by Joanna - i.e. , a poster campaign for all GP's surgery's/clinics and seminars for medical staff and doctors. If our local w*nker of a doctor had done a simple bloodtest for Joanna when she first wentto him with problems , then she'd still be here today.
After the 2 years of fundraising / direct action , then I think her hubby , Mark , will want to think about moving back on with his life ( he's only early 40's) .
But for now.... we battle on and raise as much dosh as possible.
Big kissy , kissy for buying a shirt Blue - now where's the fotos...eh?eh?eh? :D

Very disappointed at distinct lack of Cossack motorcycles being ridden by the participants!
Wot fettl one n all, now then about yon Cossack run, Joanna's Wish n that, more power to ya Mr. Chaz, me n the 6th Form are behind you bonny lad, in fact on the 28th of April me n the said motley crew intend a pram push to share wot we collect with the Cossack run n our own effort which is to rebuild a school for orphans in Sri Lanka .....(did I say I was a teacher??) so more of that as n when - we are gonna be pushing this creation of satan made by me own hot n sweaties (did I say I teach Design Technology to kids with learning difficulties n behavioural problems? no? ...I thought I had....) 16 to 20 miles so here's hopin we collect a few bob.....now where was I ? Oh Aye, when ya gits to be my age you have these senior moments......right, er, yes .....Cossacks, well we have a nice man down ere wot does these along with the Enfield........(I can remember them when they woz Royal.........) n some time back as I had been given a draft chit by me M.O. and told not to darken his door again...("wot? you want to go back onto a motorbicycle?" )he did'nt get out much, as a young man he had been brought up in a convent by nuns y' see...."have I not spent 7 years painstakingly rebuilding your ravaged body and healing your shattered mind ?"(nah, that was already a lost cause me auld mate....), "have I not mapped and remapped your scars?" (yes, you did, ...you did....) ..."Young man..."(he had a visual acuity problem n' all..) "you hurt me greatly, you spurn my hippocratic oath..........begone ungrateful youth and if you end up killing yourself again, don't come crying to me........." so............I did'nt...anyroad about these cossacks.......oh aye, well I went to this auld boy's unit to see all these Enfields n that and also saw at the back of his shed wallowing, I say again, wallowing yay verily wallowing in the gloom of abandonment a veritable plethora of the pinnacle of Russian engineering.
By dam, these muthas were HUGE..........Now I am a bit of a shortarse, in fact my long trowsies are really short pants, the original "low down bum" me, but I'll tell thee summat for nowt, as I looked up n up at this behemoth of motorcycling I could'nt help thinkin...... " I would'nt like to push that fecker.........." Electric start n all ............hell, but them Russian gadjies have a bit of catchin up to do.....so in answer to your statement Blue, mebbe that's why............anyroad, got meself a "Cossack Run 2005" tee n the 2 wheeled velocipede in striking yellow don't 'alf bring back some memories....mind you, so does the "SQUARIAL"...........AYE, me duck, them wos the days, when men were men, bikes were bikes and to be gay meant you were a bit merry like...
Hey, are you the lassie wot does them futuristic crotch rockets in the opposition mag?.......just askin like......some of them are bloody gud but I bet they would be an utter bastard to ride not to mention get your leg over...
Wot? ...wot do I ride?....did I not say?....Oh, a 92 Suzy Intruder, mildy customised wi' a set of pipes you can hear in the next county........I like to spread joy n harmony wherever I go y' see.........noo ye aal gaan canny mind....
Well, its time for me bed........Nurse......! can I have my cocoa now please??

Tick followed tock , followed tick , followed tock....
Not long now , sail out 6am on the 7th from Dover - heading darn sarf on the 6th. My Crazy Frog pyjamas are packed , along with my finest silken undergarments.
Been busy harrassing everyone right until the very end for dosh and stuff:
Cossack malarky has raised £4,500 for Joanna's Wish so far. T shirts will still be sold up until Crimbo , so we may get another few hundred quid on top of that - along with a few kind individuals and clubs who are fundraising through raffles etc.
All that apart - Mark at Joanna's Wish has banked knocking on £14K total so far , through the collection boxes , direct donations , seperate fundraising etc...
Many thanks for everyone's help and tolerance at putting up with my constant "harranging" through websites and magazines. It's brought out the very best in a lot of folk ( and the very worst in others!!!!).
See you all at the RBCS - Joanna's hubby Mark should be there at his first "bike do" along with the kids. If you spot them and recognise them ( can't miss all that red hair!), please say hello and make them feel welcome - I'm sure they are all humbled by everyone's support.
Thanks again - give us a wave if you spot me out and about and stick a tenner in my thong for the charity eh? I might even do you a little dance too!
Cheers!

Knackered!
Just got back 5am this morning. Unfortunately had a distressing phonecall offa the missus on Saturday regarding her latest hospital visit . So clambered back on my bike and rode for 28 hours non stop to get back to Calais. Arrived home 5am this morning! Really nice riding through sun ups and sun downs - although I am sick of the taste of Redbull right now!
Anyway.... left the rest of the crew there to do the final job of clearing the bar on the Sunday night ( hopefully there will be no more podium strip shows from them!). Luckily , we chose to do all the little roads on the way down ( off roads in a lot of cases!) , clocking up the mileage and the great photos. Will get them developed this week.
Bit sad when we got to Faro - cos I knew that was the party to signal it's time to go home soon. Although.... Friday was superb - spent an afternoon with Mr.Blackhack and Blackhack Junior , and an evening with POB. It was a pleasure to spend time with you guys and I was touched by all the Brits wearing the JW t shirts , folk coming up and offering kind words and donations too! Cheers El Mick , PILRC , Mad Dave and Smutty too. It's surprising how many folk you see and recognise at a show like that!!!

Got a few important decisions to make and plans to put on hold.
Anyway , can someone please "unsticky" this now?
I'll post again once the website has had the photos and writeup posted.
Again... thanks to everyone.
