Hello everyone,
For the first time I've just joined the least exclusive motorbike club in the land with the possible exception of the CBR6 owners amongst us.

No, I'm now a fully fledged "fighter project in the shed club" victim. Gixer 750 Slabbie in a Z1R frame with the gixer suspenders front and back. And thats about it, everything else still needs sorted.

Got it from a bloke who'd given up on it a year ago, so it's lain in his garage since. Has potential tho, so here's hoping. :(

I'll get some pix up soon.
Don't hold yer breath waiting for the finished article mind!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I think it depends on which side of the 'wall' you're born on as to whether you agree with the goooooooooooooogle version of teuchter.

My personal version would be summat like:
Teuchter (chooch-taar): The chooch bit rhyming with loch not lock!!!
Highland Scots who like....
A) to wear kilts come rain, hail, sunshine, snow, gales, midges, wasps
B) to eat the intestines of sheep filled with oatmeal and congealed blood served with mashed turnip (yum-yum)
C) hooning around on barely legal bikes outnumbering the law 2000:1 :D
D) the odd drink now and then!

Here's a piccie of the fighter as she stands, got her last Sunday so no changes except the tank/tail have been removed (yep, backwards progress!).
The other is my workhorse SV. Had her since new in '99, 16K glorious miles.

Ello....

Your bike is better than mine because it's:-

1. In one piece
2. Got wheels
3. In one piece
4. Not in pieces

I like your bike, but I am NOT gay and this isn't a chat-up line.

That will be more obvious when it comes......like me.

"Jeez!!!" :D

Us bikers are a funny bunch. I stick my head round the virtual door of the forum to say "Hiya, What's the crack?" and suddenly from all corners of the nation there's third party allegations off beastialty, male bonding gone too far, feudal skirmishes and leek/daffodil abuse!

Jay, remember the camera lies unless you use trick photography and Paintshop Pro to hide those lies!
The bike is tall, my guess 32-36" seat height, but I'm gonna address that problem so I'll be picking everyones braincell now.

The original builder just turned the gsxr swingarm upside down and got the top mount adapted to suit the monoshock without the linkage. This means the spring is way too hard but gave the whole bike that arse in the air look. The chain is gonna foul the swingarm too so, sometime she's going down (Ahem! Cough-cough).

Anyone know what's the best way to do this?
Shorter, softer rate spring in the gixer shock or smaller new/donor unit to suit?
Is the gixer rebuildable anyway? It's a 1990 with remote damper.

Any info would be great.

Ah yes, the workshop threads. So when you've all got sensible heads on you venture over and answer the most brain-crushingly deep questions about motorbikes. Go there often?

Consider it cut & pasted soon. My botty has been spanked, my beer ration cut. :(

Now where were we.......ah, yes. I've always shown a keen interest in women filling out nurses uniforms. Care to fulful a request for the new guy, Mrs R? :p

I'm more matron than 'Babs' these days so don't get too excited. May post picture soon (If I can find one).

I think you'd best get your heads together first and come up with a method of time travel first to see Mrs R in all her glory!!! (in person's always better than photographs anyday :) )

Oh FF, remember what your missus did to you at the Celtic Warriors? I bet you do... Will she be at the western party? :D :D
