Genuine LOL moment.

They were doing a piece on why you don't see any black players in English cricket right now, as opposed to 20-30 years ago.

They went to visit a cricket club where there were lots of young asian and black boys and they were asking them what their favourite sports were. The answers swung between football and cricket. They then asked these lads whether they would like to be a footballer or a cricketer when they grew up. Most of the youngsters answered one or the other.

One young black lad, somewhere about 9 or 10 years of age, had different ideas. When asked whether he wanted to be a cricketer or a footballer when he grew up, his reply was

"Neither - I'm going to be a certified chartered accountant".

:D :D

Hope he does grow up to be an accountant too!

Been watching all the hype over Lewis Hamilton in F1. He said the same thing when he was 10 about wanting to drive for McClaren - and low and behold there he is today!

That's the kind of role model that young coloured lads should be looking at-
and his Dad's a top bloke for supporting him all the way too.

Like it..... :)

I agree. In fact, one of the outcomes of the investigation was that black kids no longer play cricket because there are no black England cricketeers, whereas asian kids have the likes of Monty to look up too.

I hope the young lad becomes an accountant too, because he will also be a role model in his own way.
