Still waiting for ours, on another forum I got into a row about managing money, some people are saying if you cant manage your money its your own fault, I say this is not about wether you can manage money its about the unfair charges.
Banks are ripping people off all the time yet we dont have another option, where else can we go rather than the banks, most people are paid by BACS these days so they have us by the balls.

Bring back cash and bartering I say.

Look at this Tony http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-action-group-against/

It'll give you an idea of what's possible.
A lot of banks aren't even bothering to argue now, 2 letters to them and they're coughing up!!!

Cheers'en. :D

The problem with the huge charges that the banks put on is that they don't tell you you've gone over your limit, but they let you have the money. And then they clobber you the next month - the most i got charged one month was £96.... now on a tight budget can you really say that wouldn't bugger most people up? So then we went over again, and again and again, and it was all down to 1 mistake (not mine my housemates who hadn't paid in his half) and all the charges!

I have a credit card with Egg, they charged me £25 for going over my limit and it buggered up my credit rating for a bit, BUT... they emailed me and snail mailed me to tell me I'd gone over my limit... At least they had the courtesy to tell me!

thanks for that link, taken the time to have a read and printed off the information request form, I know that in the last 28 months they had about £3000 off me, but its gonna be a scary thing to look at the last 6 years!!

at the moment Im struggling to find the £10 to pay for the information!! LOL

might pay by cheque, let it bounce then claim the charges for that

no idea if I will get anything back, but has to be worth a try, my financial state cant get any worse

I did it before it became popular - used to send long ranting letters until they got fed up with me and refunded my money.
Got a few years to catch up on now though so I'll have to do it again :)

We've just started down this route. Sent the first letter and didn't have to pay £10. So just send it and see what happens.
