This sounds familiar - I used to use the most wierd and wonderful stuff to get a sound then I found ........TRACE ELLIOT!! -
First time I used it with the band, the singer said " you've spent £1500 to sound EXACTLY the same".
Ah, but I KNEW you see, it was QUALITY exactly the same sound!

Know what you mean, used a cheap wah pedal and a cheap phaser to get the same sound Chris Squire got on Tormato using a harmoniser costing £HOWMUCH!

My Set up! Black top Les Paul by WESTFIELD! £150, V-Amp Multi effects box £80, Crate practice amp £50 And.... Guitar rig software (should be £400) but only cost me £5 and C-base sx (retails at £650) for a fiver as well! For a cracked and copied version! End result...Two of me mates who are really good players thought it sounded and played as good as their setups that cost thousands ! The moral o this story is a bit like the moral with Harleys! You dont have to pay thousands for somthin that does wot it says on the tin! Ya just dont get the brand name to show off with! :o I`ll get my lycra pants and hair gel! :D
