a night in the pub............

balding banjo players (who are going bald, but still wear ponytails),
guy on his own reading the "new scientist" (all night),
old codgers still with their shopping at midnight,
folk group (teachers on a night out) playing to nobody,as nobody is listening,
tossers talking about how much they've saved by drinking local (as opposed to the town)
fat slappers, pretending to be models,
ageing hippies, pretending to be cool,
the list goes on and on and on and on and on on and on and on and on and on on and on and on and on and on on and on and on and on and on on and on and on and on and on.


Why ther fuck do I go to the pub on a tuesday night ????

If you want depression you should try the Golden Galleon pub near us overlooking the extraordinarily beautiful Cuckmere Haven (stand there and sigh in awe). When we first came to live here it was a fab olde worlde pub full of beams,old books, models of ships, locals, morris dancers, real ale and general salt of the earth. They had their own brewery on the premises and the italian family who owned it did fantastic cheap food, it was truly a pub paradise! The view was amazing as well.
Now the italian family has retired and it has been taken over by the Mitchells and Butler chain of pubs who have turned it into a vile chintz palace for grannies which does mainly food (badly) and smokers must sit in 2 chairs in a grubby place next to the toilet at the back :( It no longer has any character or charm and only boring people go there now. It is a travesty, me and Mitch refuse to set foot in the place!!!

Just lost our meeting place as its gonna be turned from a truckstop to a Bistro. Found a new place to meet until March. Nice pub with a back bar. Bet ya can't guess what's happening in March... yep, it's gonna be converted to a Bistro. :rolleyes:
