View Full Version : Dogs for a reason?
Just had some chav little twat in the shop.
As follows:
'When ya getting the dog then?'
'Who says I am?'
'Me mate came in yesterday and said you guys were getting a new dog. You know, Pip. The tribal king?'
'Oh yeah, Pip. We know him. Nice guy.'
'So when ya getting the dog then'?
'At the weekend.'
'A staff aint it?'
'Yeah, why?'
'No reason, I just think its cool that a tattooist gets a dog with a bit of attitude to it. I mean, it would look pretty stupid to see a guy like Paul walking a poodle or a jack russell down the street?'
'You wanker! Paul has got a jack called Sensimelia, and she is the most pathetic dog you could meet. Wouldn't hurt a fly. The staff will be my dog, and he will not have any attitude unless wankers like you come in the shop!'
'No need to be like that Ju!'
'I'll tell ya what, if you fukk off out my shop now, and stay out, I will not teach my dog to chew ya bollox off if we see you out and about'
'Well staffs are nasty dangerous dogs, and they kinda suit the image of a tattooist'
'You on fukkin' drugs mate? Dogs are how you make them, and if you only have 'em for image then you are a sad ***** but then I can see you are that by the stupid fukkin burberry cap your wearing. Now fukk off ya little twat!'
'No need for the attitude Ju, you have a reputation for being a mouthy bitch ya know'
'Yeah I know, I've worked hard to get that rep, now piss off before I shove your cap up your arse!'
Wanker! Can't believe people think that way.
Then I open the paper today and see a girl who was savaged by a staffie. Bet we wont find out what she did to upset the dog.
We have loads of twats in town who get staffs and pits and put them in these fukkin' chest harnesses that look like the belt Matt Skelton would fight for!
This has done my fukkin' head in!.............
By the way Mrs Bunbag, took your advice and took up the water bowl as you said. Woke this morning to no mess on the carpet. Poor Sensi was gasping for a drink when she came downstairs tho.......
Thanks for the advice. Was nice chatting to ya last night. No doubt you guys will be hearing from me again in the near future........ ;) :D

lol
On form this morning then, Juke? Thing is - dogs do have a 'rep'. We all know a squidgy rottie or a staffy that would rather love ya to death than fight ya but they do come with a rep. You been down Ingoldmells lately?!
lol....yeah I know what ya mean Minx, but ffs!
Just coz we have a studio we have to have a man-eating beast of a dog?
What you guys gonna buy then?
A pit bull?.............A rotty?.............
Makes me mad as hell that these little twats buy a dog coz they think it makes them look hard, when they aint got the balls of a knat, and the dress sense of a c**t!
Sorry, but this little prick has just really rattled my cage..........

dogs are like kids.
their behaviour is directly related to how they have been raised. ive seen nasty bad tempered terriers, and ive seen docile soppy lovable mastiffs, its not the dog, its the owner, as has often been said.
my dad was a posty, and he said that the dogs most responsible for biting postal workers was the jack russel(although that was probably a name he gave to any breed of small coarse haired terrier) what makes a bite from a big dog so newsworthy is that a jack russel isnt likely to do a great deal of damage if it goes for you, a staffy, or rotty is. hence, in the world of wayne and waynetta, where in your face agression is an endearing feature, something squat and muscular with a big mouth and lots of teeth is seen as a must have accessory to go with the burberry and a gold chain with every engagement ring they ever managed to steal hung round their necks.
dogs should be licenced like guns, then the fuckwits with no responsibility or care would be prevented from ruining what are in reality, many beautiful breeds of animal.
bloody well said that man!

totally agree!!
I have a staffie - she is the softest thing i know! I also have a staffie cross - she a brill house/car dog - wont let anyone near the car if im out at night goes ballistic - the staffie - would let them in and lick em to death!!
really pisses me off when people get dogs for their image!

So .... (devil's advocate here) - if you dont buy a staffie for 'the image' or doberman, rottie etc etc, why do reasonable folk buy them? And do they not sometimes live up to their media image?
Example, friend of mine has rotties. Great dogs all of them - no problem around sensible people etc etc. One of them kinda 'had' a small terrier walking down the lane the other week. Devil dog or misunderstood?

Oi, stop being so bloody bigotted you lot. I actually quite like some Burberry stuff and i'll be damned if im gonna stop wearing it cause of a few dickheads. It goes super dooper with my Black Labrador and Hunter wellingtons. :D
Anyway, dog's, reputations etc. Of course people buy dogs for their reputations otherwise we'd all have pink poodles or mongrels as breeds wouldnt matter if you see what im getting at.
Weve got a black labrador, partly cause i grew up with them as my parents used to breed them and partly because they is cool innit like geezer. I also know that a Labrador pissed off is a pretty formidable opponent made all the worse by the fact that they are underestimated. More pounds per square inch in a Labradors jaw then a Rotweiller and that is fact. Everybody has a dog for its reputation, simple as that. Some people buy dogs that are known to be soft (a reputation), some buy them cause the dogs are hard (again, a reputation). Im going on to much so im off o sort out me burberry polo shirt to go with me diesel jeans so i can go out tonight.
Toodle pip Chavies :D

Any animal can be underestimated, unpredictable, and just have a general bad day....
My friend was teasing my cat with the rattly mouse - now I did say this wasn't such a good idea - however he said "it's ok its the soft one".... followed about 3 minutes later by "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW its drawn blood... look i'm bleeding!!!!!!!!"
And if a cat can do that by accident through instinct then I am sure a dog can do much much more.
What I want to know is what happened to the days when as a kid you were told that you didnt talk to strange dogs unless you asked their owner if they minded and if the dog was friendly????

PRAT and that's me being polite. I'm glad the advise I gave you worked. One thing I forgot to say to you last night was when you get your pup have fun and enjoy his company.
Tracie
ps look forward to hearing from you soon. Why not visit the site

Been reading what you guys are saying, and you kinda got me thinking.
Why AM I getting a staffie?
Well, my mate has had nowt but staffies for years, and his have always been really great dogs. Well trained I guess, which is why I sought advice last night from someone who knows more than I will ever know about training dogs.
I do understand this breed can be a huge problem if not taken in hand early on. I just hope I can help Razza to become a well behaved, happy little fella.
I am certainly not buying a staff coz I want him to make me look hard.
I would need a whole truck load of cement to achieve that............ :p

and believe it or not a dachsund jaw trumps both of them

So you've not changed your mind about your staff then Juke? ;) I love them. Don't know dogs very well but I have met and spent a lot of time with 4 smashing staffies. Loyal, trustworthy and great fun - also a nice size for a house dog and great rough and tumble wrestling games with them.
Nah Minx, Razza is mine now, so I guess we will just have to hope for the best.
In all the years I was on the road with City Link, I never met a nasty staff, and I met loads of them.
The worst dogs I came across were German Shepherds. They seem to have a natural 'guard dog' instinct.......... :(

juke you dont need a dog with attitude or to scare people. you have that covered :D
My familly have allways had german shepherds, never had a problem with any off them. all lovely dogs but all trained.
Fukk off Baldy!...................... :p

If a large dog gets hold of your bollox you've got a chance...
If a small dog gets hold of your bollox your feked..
Larges dog chew, small dogs grip tight and hold on!
Never been afriad or intimidated by any dog, I find Dobermans are the softest soppy personalities I've met, apart from Great Danes....
I dont see how this could turn into a savage beast....................

Dissapeared round about the time they taught kids to stop and look before crossing the road instead of blaming the road usesr for every accident involving a stupid pedestrian.

Dogs used to be licensed like guns, you used to have to pay for a dog license and you just paid for a shotgun license, both were sold over the post office counter...I think you had to be 16 to own either one...however I agree if you tease any dog and make it's life a misery it will be nasty...can't see the point in owning a dog if you dont want to look after it...I'm too old to give a dog the amount of exercise it needs...Here's a little trick for you new dog owners...when you take the dog for a walk always hold the lead and say walkies nice and loud..the dog will run to you for the lead to be put on so you can walk it to the park where you let it run free..when you want to go home..instead of calling "here boy" or something similar just call "walkies" and the dog will run to you for the lead to be put on...easy and it works.... :D John

I got a staffie cause they are great family dogs, they love people and love kids - not too keen on other dogs/animals if you dont socialise them at an early age.
so no i certainly didnt get them for the 'hard image' as anybody who knows staffs know thats a load of crap!
Whatever breed your thinking of getting you should fully research it first anyway - to make sure thats the breed for you and your ok with the breed!
What?

Hey hun, you lived with me for 8 years, and..............
yeah ok, point taken! :D

Even rescue centres now usually ask for a donation to cover sterilisation / immunisation costs. Wood Green charge about £35 for an adult cat IIRC.

It doesn't matter how much you pay for a dog when you buy it, or even if you get it free...dog food costs about £1 per day..more for large dogs less for small...that's about £350 each year, flea collars, worming pills, leads, collars and vets, allow £30 per year, small dogs live about 18 years, large dogs about 12 years, which ever way you look at it, that dog is going to cost you about £4,000...so If you want a dog, thats what you are going to spend...If you don't want to spend that much, you don't want a dog...John

Creature hinny ,
if you go to your local cat n doggie shelter and explain the circumstanses ie you want to walk with a dog but can,t afford to care for one at this moment in time they will be over the moon if you say you will walk their dogs for them .Our local place where we got Rosie has loads of volunteer doggie walkers who , for whatever reasons , are unable to have a pet of their own , and they take the dogs to the nearby fileds for a walk. The only downside to this is , DON,T take the same dog out all of the time coz you,ll get attached to each other .
