hi, Im looking for some help.....does anyone who attended the pro custom bike show in doncaster in 2004, remember seeing any where on the advertisments, that there would be custom goodies that would only be available at the show and not from any catalogs?
And also the same goes for discount parts from stall holders?
Thanks in advance

Do you want me to email you with the copy of the ads and publicity we ran?
I'm glad you have brought this 'disscusion' over here at least. I hate arguing on someone else's forum....
At least here I'm on home ground....

gone back through all the ads and publicity we ran for the show and no where does it state there would be parts on show/for sale that you couldnt get anywhere else or from cataloges, they state custom built bikes, best collection of custom bikes all together in one place etc ... all which was true, trade stalls etc most of the publicity they ran was actually aimed at attracting trade not the public .
The whole point of that show was to bring together as much of the 'custom' industry as possible, this year they have the UK Biker Build Off, a round of the Custom Bike World Championships, a massive auto jumble and loads more

Pat,,why are you trying to make a war of this?...the people I spoke to on the bus (yes I had some custom) had the notion that there was some advertising some where that there was going to be what I stated...there is no point in mailing me what you have advertising wise, as it what i'm implying is clearly missing from what you have.
all i have done is ask if anyone else has seen this......

Hi there,
I went to the Donny Show, and have to say that i did not see any adverts stating that there would be special offers only available at the show...
I did however get a show discount on some mirrors I bought from the auto jumble chap, no idea what his name is...
I actually thought that the show was superb, for a first attempt, some cracking bikes there...and am looking forward to the next one.. Chatting at the show to the Custom Chrome folk, and lots of other traders, they told me they were very happy with the response there, and will be back next year, but far bigger and better..
Good for them for putting their money where their mouths were, and getting something sorted esp. as its up north and not another southern show...I wish them every success..and how anyone can say that it were a rip off is beyond me..
Bassman.
If 'only available at the show' offers were made on Pro Custom Bike adverts, those were not the ads carried in either 100% or in BSH. Not being local to the area, I can't vouch for what ads in the local press may have said.

That must have been Zodiac, not CCE, Bassman. Zodiac put their faith in the show and brought their stand and bikes over (and Ton Pels himself was on the stand all weekend). Custom Chrome decided it was an untried show and too expensive, and so didn't have a stand - although the European Sales Manager did come over for a scout round and the exhibitors' free party!

I am NOT making this into a war.
On another forum you made statements about the show that were wrong and unfair, I merely corrected them. As I said before you are entitled to your opinion of the show, you were obviously unhappy with your percieved treatment as an exhibitor, I offered you a personal contact number to sort that out. You declined that number.
If you had been making statements that were just your opinion on your treatment and not repeating incorrect 'hearsay' then I wouldnt have an issue with it.
And then to take quotes from here over to there but miss out anything that was complimentry about the show was just twisting it to your own ends and again unfair.
No the show was not perfect, both Blue and I were there, we both give our opinions in print and put our names to those opinions.
You however choose to slag off the show to all and sundry but without giving the organisers a right to reply as they have no knowledge of your comments.
Unfair.!
