View Full Version : Remember my insurance claim?
Well I just got a letter to settle, :D , dunno whats happened, but the driver has admitted liability and they are going to give £400 for the bike (bit cheeky) and £2000 for my injuries, I'm going to accept as I think that it is a reasonable amount.

never accept 1st offer if it is the 1st one
but in the end if your happy thats all that matters
Get £2000 now for a week off of work and a few bruises or reject it and wait months for a court case that might decide something else, also the bike hire came to £8450 for the time I had the Fazer 1000 to run around on.
I'm happy. ;)

I remember my first ever claim, wasnt my fault, was a car accident, I was in an old fiesta value £100 at the time, they took so long to sort it and argue about things that the car hire ran to thousands and thousands, in the end they paid me out £108 total loss and that was that???
no wonder insurance is so damned expensive, at the time I was only18-19 and remember the car hire place telling me that for the corsa they gave me, they charged £118 per day!!!!

theyre not going to give it you! theyre offering it to you to see if youy bite. NEVER NEVER EVER accept the first offer from an isurance company. its always a daft low opener that they will use to try and get out of paying you the correct ammount. reject it and tell them to come back with a more reasonable offer, and they will almost certainly come back to you with more.

Snatch it with both hands...you can do a lot with £2400..plus you either still have what's left of your bike or they will gladly sell it back to you for £50-£70..if they only valued it at £400..you offer £50 and let them come back with £100 then you say £70... :D John
