Is there a handbrake cable/s that can be used on a small bike trike without shortening it?
Havent got the lever yet cos i was going to match the lever to the cable.
Its a reliant axle and the trike would be bike length(short)
Eg will the reliant lever and cable fit? Or will there be loads of bunched up cable??
Am i right that i only need to stop one wheel?
cheers

just pop down the local diy and puchase a length of cable there, you can pick up the other bits and bobs to attach it.
this way you will have the correct length that you ned

Didnt realise that you could buy the necessary fixings and stuff!
Do you need a certain grade of cable?
Would this stuff be from a motor factor or somewhere like B&Q? All the real diy shops have gone round our way!!

a company called speedy cables will make up a cable to suit your needs, but also supply the sleve to cut to length your self, then buy wire, from anywhere boat shop, riggers some where like that, and yes both wheels need to be braked...........
far as i can tell the stuff in b&q should be fine.
I've used a reliant back axle on mine its a virago based trike with a standard reliant handbrake cable and lever no exess cable to worry about just make sure you use the reliant mounting bracket for the lever and it will all work sweet.

I always use an Ital handbrake cable, ( most car spares places do em), but I'm thinking of converting the thing to rods.(early Rialtos had them)
All pretty straight forward, and if you build an adjuster into the setup, you can fit it and forget it pretty much. that's why I like Reliants - put fuel, oil and water in and the job's a fish - near zero maintenence - triking for the bone lazy!

If you're going to the motor factors, ask to look at Austin Allegro hanbrake cables. They're pretty short. I think I used them on my Lotus 7 type kitcar. :)
