Thought the last Metallica album sucked, but live they're still a force to be reckoned with.
There's no denying that the Black Album and before contains some true classics, but I rather like Garage Inc. and S+M.
As for Rammstein, I can take 'em or leave 'em, though their stuff wouldn't work in the English language.
Then again, I'm an old fart whose tastes lean more towards Southern Boogie, (Skynyrd / Molly Hatchet / ZZ Top ), and British blues-based rock
(Free / Purple / Zep / Rory G.), most of the more modern stuff I listen to is courtesy of my 19-year-old son.

Black Album, that feckin' travesty!!!!! they started to suck when Cliff Burton died (most excellent bass player in the world - sorry Lemmy! - Lemmy playing Anaesthesia "Pulling Teeth" nah, don't think so - don't mean to say I don't like Motorhead still, cos I do :o *). I think ...And Justice for All was the big downer. Jason newboy (sorry Newstead - can't get over that for some reason)
Trouble was, I'd only been introduced to Metallica (see I can spell :D ) just before that album came out - Master of puppets, Ride the lightning and Kill 'em all were the best!!!! serious thrash!!! Big mistake was getting rid of Dave Mustaine at the start  !! Megadeth always were the better band in the bay area!
*starting to ramble at that point cos me and Mrs R are on the Perry from the local farm shop!! (lovely pear wine type stuff!!) 'ere did anyone know Babycham is fizzy Perry!!

Master of puppets.
The bestest metallica album.
Did'nt Ozzy and Metallica swap bassists?
And did ozzy end up with Faith no mores Drummer...blimey musical chairs innit?
The black album made a lot of fans. there afterwards they gave up the title.

Trujillo should have stayed with Ozzy. Metallica are now a big sucky bunch of berks - corporate suits. Making a movie that highlights the band's breakdown and internal politics? Money grabbing t**ts.
The Black album was the turning point as in "We're commercial". Every man and his dog knows "Enter Sandman".
Sorry, lost faith a long time ago.

Is'nt that more of a testament to how good the black album actually was.
Music for the masses is'nt a bad thing.
New metal is commercial as was old metal infact any music you hear in the charts is.
When i meet you i will tell of a first hand experience of how the 'Kerrang chart Stars' are earned.
And a little unheard story of how the Good Charlottes made it big.
Not here tho.
shhhh

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, it's more how Metallica have gone about it that's annoyed me. From being a band that appreciated that their fans got them where they are, to desperately trying every ruse in the book to milk more cash.
