b+q sell little petrol generators, 800w output for £32.99, for t5hat price, itsa daft not to have one, even if it will just provide power for the lights, fridge and heating boiler!

So you can retreat to the garage, keep warm and keep the beer fridge on.
Sorted ;)

Just bloody annoying when you look out the back window and see the houses on the main road with leccytricity and I'm staying down a dirt track , not 100 yards away.
Thank god it's not cold spam butties again tonight. :D

If ya get one make sure you test it regularly as they don't like being stood without use. It's a right pain to try to get one running by torchlight if it wont start :(

i fire mine up every few weeks, whenever im tidying the garage, i usually leave it ticking over for a half hour with the lights plugged into it. for that price, you only need it once for it to be worth its weight, after all, a fridge full of food is going to be worth more, and insurance for that is a pain. i find it handy if im working anywhere without power, as it will just run my big sds drill.

The hard starting may be your petrol going "flat". Change the tank for fresh gas and try again

Mix your own two stroke fuel always caused trouble if left standing..the oil seemed to sink to the bottom and then you feed neat oil into the carb..I'm going to get some two stroke mix and leave it in the plastic can beside the genny..then when I need the genny I will shake the can before I pour it in...........But.............because it will be dark I will get my wife to hold a candle so that I can see what I am doing.... :D john
Hope she doesn't see this...she'll bloody well kill me!!
